Corona Crafting - May #1 |
|
T his is the 1st of a series of 8 cards to made via 'zoom' classes in the month of May. Something to cheer us during the Corona Virus pandemic and resulting 'lockdown'.
Cut Thick Whisper White Cardstock to 21cm x 14.8cm and score on long side at 10.5cm to create a standard A6 card blank.
If working in inches, you should cut the A4 in half along the long edge, just shy of 5-7/8" and then score on the long edge at 4-1/8.
Cut the following ... (use inches throughout or cm - don't interchange)
DSP - 4" x 2-1/4" or 10.2cm x 5.7cm
Early Espresso - 4-1/8" x 2-3/8" or 10.5cm x 6cm
Early Espresso - 1" x 4" or 2.6cm x 10.2cm
Crushed Curry - 4-5/8" x 2-7/8" or 11.7cm x 7.3cm
Die Cut a piece of Whisper White with the long stitched rectangle from the die set. Stamp with the desired sentiment, in Early Espresso Ink.
Punch a Whisper White medium daisy. Holding the centre curl the petals downward with a bone folder.
Cut Daisy in half (snip in between the petals) place a tiny dot on Tombow on the 'half centre' of one daisy and stick the other 'half' on top, but offset, so the top petals fill the gaps between the lower petals - for a 'full' look (see sample photo to help)
Set both sentiment and daisy aside to dry.
Layer up by gluing the DSP onto the Early Espresso rectangle, with neat equal borders.
Then glue the above onto the Crushed Curry rectangle, again, with neat equal borders.
Now, glue onto the card front - again, neat equal borders.
Now glue the sentiment rectangle onto the Early Espresso strip - leaving a really skinny, but equal border. Adhere to card front with Mini Dimenionals - ensure at least 1/2" / 1.3cm" of DSP can be seen at the bottom of the card.
Now add a Mini Dimensional to the underside centre of the 'half daisy' and 'tuck' it just under the bottom left edge of the sentiment strip, overlap the white border.
And finally add 1 large Gilded gem to the centre of the daisy, overlapping onto the stitched rectangle.
