Conversation Bubbles Dotted Luv
P layful card perfect for Valentine's Day or an anniversary using Stampin' Up! products including one that can be earned for FREE during Sale-A-Bration 2023.
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and Window Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Highland Heather Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" of tiny pink, pale orange, and purple dots on white background design from Dandy Designs 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 3" square from Pale Papaya Cardstock
- 2-13/16" square from Highland Heather Cardstock
- 3" square from Window Sheets
- 2" square from Pale Papaya Cardstock
Cut a 3" and a 4-3/4" piece of the White 1/4" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.
Lay both pieces of ribbon on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Use the brush tip of the Dark Fresh Freesia Stampin' Blends to color both pieces of ribbon. Allow to dry for a few minutes.
Lay the longer piece of colored ribbon across the bottom of the vertical, dotted Dandy Designs Designer Paper rectangle so it is about 3/4" from the bottom edge. Fold the ends of the ribbon over and secure the ends of the ribbon in place with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape strips and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the designer paper rectangle. Adhere it to the front of the Highland Heather card.
Slide one end of the shorter, colored ribbon piece under the ribbon on the card front on the right side. Tie in place with a half knot. Trim the ends.
Place the Dots & Spots Die cutting side up on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Place the Highland Heather square on top of the die so no circles will be cut off along the edges. Run through the machine.
Tip: Because the die is so big, I found it easier to put the die on the platform face up and then put the cardstock on top of it so I could make sure the cardstock was straight and properly positioned.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the dotted Highland Heather square to the center of the large Pale Papaya square.
Adhere the matted, dotted square to the front of the card so it is evenly spaced side to side and evenly spaced between the top of the card and the top of the ribbon on the card.
Pick out the slightly rounded square speech bubble with some hash marks along the edges and the point sticking off to the right die from the Conversation Bubbles Dies. Put it on top of the Window Sheets square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is in the center of the square. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed.
Note: You are using the solid speech bubble cut and the hatch marked outline speech bubble cut out for this project. Keep the Window Sheet with the shape cut out of the center for use as a stencil on another project.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the Window Sheet speech bubble cut outs on the dotted Highland Heather square to figure out spacing and placement. When happy with the placement, use a small amount of Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the cut outs in place near the bottom of the outline speech bubble where the glue will be hidden in a later step.
Mount the "luv ya" sentiment from the Conversation Bubbles Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the small Pale Papaya square.
Pick out the slightly rounded square speech bubble with some bubble marks along the edges and the point sticking off to the right die from the Conversation Bubbles Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the sentiment is centered in the opening of the speech bubble. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed. Keep both pieces.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the outline bubble marked speech bubble to the front of the card so it overlaps the two Window Sheet speech bubble cut outs near the bottom center as shown.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the solid sentiment speech bubble cut out to the front of the card so it is inside the Pale Papaya outline sentiment speech bubble.
Use the brush tip of the Dark Pale Papaya Stampin' Blends to color three of the pearls on the sheet of Heart Pearls. Allow to dry for a moment.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up the three colored heart pearls from the sheet making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them randomly to the front of the card on the dotted Highland Heather square.
