Christmas Quilt Scattered Flowers Thanks |
A bright, cheery thank you card looking nothing like Christmas even though it uses the Christmas Quilt Bundle from Stampin' Up!
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Soft Sky Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock
- 2 squares each 2" square from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2" square from Garden Green Cardstock
As you are ready to stamp on each piece of cardstock using the Christmas Quilt stamps, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Make sure to cover your mat with Grid Paper to protect it from ink as you stamp.
Mount the small, four-petal flower image from the Christmas Quilt Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Lemon Lime Twist Ink Pad and stamp it randomly down the Lemon Lime Twist rectangle from the upper left corner to the lower right corner. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Rotate the orientation of the stamp sometimes and let some of the images go off the edges of the cardstock.
Make sure to cover your work area with Grid Paper to protect it from ink as you stamp.
Ink up the "thank you" sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Set with the Garden Green Ink Pad and stamp it randomly down the Lemon Lime Twist rectangle from the upper left corner to the lower right corner. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Angle the orientation of the stamp sometimes and let some of the images go off the edges of the cardstock and overlap the previously stamped flower images.
Once all the ink is dry, rub the entire stamped surface of the Lemon Lime Twist rectangle with the Embossing Buddy.
Place the stamped cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Make sure to cover your mat with Grid Paper to protect it from ink as you stamp.
Mount the open, dotted-outline flower image from the Christmas Quilt Set on Block B. Ink it up with the VersaMark Pad and stamp it randomly down the Lemon Lime Twist rectangle from the upper left corner to the lower right corner. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Angle the orientation of the stamp sometimes and let some of the images go off the edges of the cardstock and overlap the previously stamped flower and sentiment images.
Lay the stamped cardstock rectangle on top of the Grid Paper in the center. Sprinkle on some Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder so it covers all the VersaMark stamped flower images. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
Tip: If desired, you can use a small paintbrush to remove any embossing powder that stuck anywhere you don't want it.
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool until it is completely melted (smooth and shiny).
Adhere the stamped, heat-embossed Lemon Lime Twist rectangle to the front of the Soft Sky card.
Place the two white squares of cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the leaf vine patterned flower image from the Christmas Quilt Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Soft Sky Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of one of the white squares. Re-ink the stamp and stamp it in the center of the other white square.
Pick out the open flower framelit from the Quilt Builder Framelits. Place one of the stamped flowers on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the open flower framelit on top so it is centered over the flower image. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. Repeat with the other flower image.
Adhere the two flower cut outs together so they are slightly offset.
Adhere the double flower to the upper left side of the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Pick out the 6-petal solid flower framelit from the Quilt Builder Framelits. Place the Garden Green square on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the 6-petal solid flower framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush to remove the cardstock.
Use the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere three of the cut out petals to the card front as leaves. Let the ends get tucked under the flowers a bit.
Cut an 8" piece of Gold 1/8" Ribbon. Tie it in a small bow and trim the ends.
Adhere the bow to the center of the flower with a Mini Glue Dot.
Adhere three of the 1/8" gold circles from the Metallic Enamel Shapes randomly to the card front.
