Celebrate Sunflowers Wildflower Meadow |
P retty card for a celebration using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and Adhesive Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Pear Pizzazz Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Bumblebee Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 5-1/4" of spring meadow design from New Horizons 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, cut so the image is horizontal on the horizontal rectangle
- 2" x 2-1/4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 2 pieces each 1" x 3" from Old Olive Cardstock
- 2 pieces each 7/8" x 2-7/8" from Adhesive Sheets
Mount the "Let's celebrate you" sentiment from the Celebrate Sunflowers Set on Block H. Carefully press the stamp to the edge of the open Old Olive Ink Pad so you ink up ONLY the words "celebrate you." Stamp the words in the upper right corner of the horizontal Bumblebee rectangle.
Tip: If you prefer, you can cut the word "let's" off from the rest of the sentiment stamp using a sharp pair of scissors to make it easier to stamp using only the words "celebrate you."
Adhere the New Horizons Designer Paper rectangle to the bottom of the stamped Bumblebee rectangle.
Cut a 6" piece of the Black & White 1/4" Gingham Ribbon.
Place the ribbon on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. Use the brush tip of the Light Old Olive Stampin' Blends Marker to color the ribbon light green.
Lay the ribbon across the stamped cardstock/designer paper rectangle so it covers the seam between the two pieces. Fold the ends of the ribbon over and secure the ribbon in place on the back of the rectangle using strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the Bumblebee rectangle. Adhere it to the front of the Pear Pizzazz card.
Mount the small sunflower with leaves image from the Celebrate Sunflowers Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Saddle Brown StazOn Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Very Vanilla rectangle.
Pick out the matching, small, open sunflower with leaves die from the Sunflowers Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sunflower on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the sunflower is centered in the die. Run through the machine.
Squeeze the lid of the Bumblebee Ink Pad to get ink in the lid. Use a Blender Pen to pick up ink from the pad lid and color in the petals of the sunflower. Remember to stroke in one direction only or the cardstock will tear and pill up. Scribble on Grid Paper when you are done until no more color is coming off the Blender Pen.
Squeeze the lid of the Old Olive Ink Pad to get ink in the lid. Use a Blender Pen to pick up ink from the pad lid and color in the veins of the leaves and the brown areas in the center of the sunflower. Remember to stroke in one direction only or the cardstock will tear and pill up. Scribble on Grid Paper when you are done until no more color is coming off the Blender Pen.
Squeeze the lid of the Pear Pizzazz Ink Pad to get ink in the lid. Use a Blender Pen to pick up ink from the pad lid and color in the rest of the leaves and the rest of the center of the sunflower. Remember to stroke in one direction only or the cardstock will tear and pill up. Scribble on Grid Paper when you are done until no more color is coming off the Blender Pen.
Put the colored sunflower cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. Use the fine tip of the Light Old Olive Stampin' Blends Marker to color the vanilla edges around the sunflower cut out.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the colored sunflower cut out to the front of the card as shown so the leaves are on the upper right side and the flower is centered over the ribbon on the left side.
One at a time, peel the protective backing off of the Adhesive Sheets rectangles. Adhere the Adhesive Sheets rectangles to one side of the thin Old Olive strips. Be sure to leave the other protective backings in place for now.
Pick out the single leaf sprig die from the Sunflowers Dies. Put it on top of one of the Old Olive rectangles on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the Old Olive (green) side is facing up. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces. Repeat with the other Old Olive strip.
Using Paper Snips Scissors, cut both leaf sprig cut outs in half just below the top, tightly packed bunch of leaflets. Keep all the pieces.
One at a time, remove the protective backings from the backs of the upper parts of the leaf sprig cut outs. Adhere them to the front of the card so the bottoms of the stems are tucked under the sunflower cut out as shown.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to trim the stem and top leaf off of one of the bottom leaf sprig cut outs.
Remove the protective backing from the back of the trimmed bottom leaf sprig cut out. Adhere it to the front of the card as shown so the bottom of the stem is tucked under the sunflower cut out.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a large Pumpkin Pie jewel from the sheet of Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the center of the sunflower image.
