Butterfly Gala Sour Cream Containers |
F un sour cream containers for holding treats using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- 4" x 6" from Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper, cut so the patterns are facing up when a 6" edge is horizontal
- 2" x 5" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 2" from Whisper White Cardstock
Roll the designer paper into a tube that is 4" tall. Use Tear & Tape Adhesive along one 4" edge to hold the tube together.
Put a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive inside the bottom edge of the tube. Peel up the protective backing and pinch the bottom of the tube closed pressing hard to make the edges seal along the strip of Tear & Tape.
As you are ready to stamp using the Butterfly Gala Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of paper (Grid Paper works well) on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the large and small detail butterfly image of your choice from the Butterfly Gala Set on Block D. Ink up the large butterfly image with the ink pad in the color of your choice (I used Grapefruit Grove, Lemon Lime Twist, and Highland Heather). Stamp the large butterfly on one end of the large strip (2" x 5") of white cardstock. Re-ink the stamp with the same color ink and stamp the large butterfly on the other end of the white strip. Don't worry if you stamp some of the small butterfly image.
Mount either the small solid butterfly image or the small, angled, solid top wings image from the Butterfly Gala Set on Block A. Ink it up with the ink pad in the color of choice (I used Grapefruit Grove, Daffodil Delight, and Highland Heather) and stamp inside the large stamped butterfly images in the centers. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. If you use the small solid butterfly image, clean it when done using the Simply Shammy or Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub, but leave it on the block for use in stamping the tag.
Mount the solid, large, top wings image from the Butterfly Gala Set on Block C. Ink it up with the ink pad in the color of your choice (I used Lemon Lime Twist, Daffodil Delight, and Balmy Blue). Stamp it inside the top wings of the large stamped butterfly images at full-strength or stamp off once onto Grid Paper before stamping them inside the wings. Remember to re-ink the stamp for each butterfly.
Mount the solid, large, bottoms wings image from the Butterfly Gala Set on Block B. Ink it up with the ink pad in the color of your choice (I used Lemon Lime Twist, Daffodil Delight, and Balmy Blue). Stamp it inside the bottom wings of the large stamped butterfly images at full-strength or stamp off once onto Grid Paper before stamping them inside the wings. Remember to re-ink the stamp for each butterfly.
Unlock the Butterfly Duet Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide one of the large stamped butterflies into the punch and get it centered in the corresponding punching area. Punch. Repeat with the other large butterfly image.
Mount the larger, solid butterfly body image from the Butterfly Gala Set on Block A. Ink it up with the ink pad in the color of your choice (I used Grapefruit Grove, Daffodil Delight, and Highland Heather). Stamp it in the center of each of the punched out butterflies. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
Pick out a paper clip from the Share What You Love Embellishment Kit.
Place one butterfly punch out upside down on your work area. Using a Mini Stampin' Dimensional, adhere the paper clip to the back of the punch out so most of the paper clip (the part that will slide onto paper) sticks out below the bottom center of the punch out.
Add a couple more Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to the center of the butterfly punch out on either side of the paper clip near the top. Remove the protective backings from all Dimensionals and adhere the other butterfly punch out face up to the first punch out making a sandwich with the paper clip in the center.
Fill the container with treats (small embellishments, jewelry, candy, nuts, etc.).
Pinch the top of the container closed in the opposite direction from the bottom, creating the sour cream container shape.
Slide the paper clip butterfly onto the top of the container to hold it closed. Make sure the bottom wings of the butterfly punch outs are on either side of the top of the container.
Mount the "thank you" sentiment from the All Things Thanks Set on Block G. Ink it up with the ink pad in the color of your choice (I used Grapefruit Grove, Lemon Lime Twist, and Highland Heather). Stamp it in the center of the smaller white strip.
Find the small solid butterfly image from the Butterfly Gala Set on Block A or re-mount it on Block A. Ink it up with the ink pad in the color of choice (I used Daffodil Delight and Balmy Blue). Stamp once onto Grid Paper and then, WITHOUT re-inking, stamp it over the words "thank you" so it is centered.
Pick out the small tag framelit from the Wood Crate Framelits. Place the stamped sentiment/butterfly image on the Cutting Pad on the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the tag framelit on top so it is centered over the sentiment/butterfly image. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Cut a 12" piece of Whisper White Solid Baker's Twine.
Feed one end of the twine through the hole in the top of the tag. Center the tag on the twine and tie in place with a half knot.
Slide one end of the twine under the bottom of the paper clip on the front of the sour cream container and up through the center of the paper clip.
Tip: Use a floss or needle threader to help you get the twine under the paper clip and up through the center.
Tie the tag in place using a small bow. Trim the ends.
