Butterfly Brilliance Beautiful Pumpkin Boxes |
P retty boxes decorated with Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- 5-1/2" x 11" of one of the designs from the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper
- 3-1/2" x 4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 3" x 3-3/4" from Petal Pink or Terracotta Tile Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 3" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 2-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
Assemble the Mini Paper Pumpkin Box. Fill it with treats and close it up.
If you are using one of the primarily white with gray designs from the Peony Garden Designer Paper, you can alter the color of the paper if you wish using a Blending Brush.
Place the designer paper on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. Rub a Blending Brush across the open Petal Pink Ink Pad to get it inky. Lightly rub the inky Blending Brush all over the designer paper until you have the color coverage you want. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.
Lightly wrap the Peony Garden Designer Paper around the center of the box. Use strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the ends to adhere the designer paper together making a belly band around the box.
Tip: Make sure NOT to get any adhesive on the box itself or you won't be able to open it.
As you are ready to stamp using the Butterfly Gala Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "hello beautiful" or "the good things in life are better with you" sentiment from the Butterfly Gala Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Terracotta Tile Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 1-3/4" x 3" white rectangle.
Pick out the label die from the Stitched Nested Labels Dies that cuts out a label that is 1-3/16" x 2-5/16". Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the sentiment. Run through the machine.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Terracotta Tile 1/4" ribbon from the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack so it has sharp angles on each end.
Adhere the ribbon across the back of the sentiment label cut out using Tear & Tape Adhesive strips so the ends of the ribbon stick out on the left and right sides of the label cut out.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape Adhesive pieces on the back of the sentiment label cut out and adhere it to the top of the box belly band in the lower right corner.
Mount the Butterfly Brilliance stamp on Block F. Place the stamp rubber side up on your work surface. Ink up the swallowtail butterfly image (center left) using the Terracotta Tile Ink Pad. Leave the inked up stamp rubber side up on your work surface. Place the 3-1/2" x 4" white rectangle on top of the inked up stamp so it covers the swallowtail butterfly image. Fold the Grid Paper over on top of the stamp with cardstock on top and rub firmly all over. Unfold the Grid Paper and remove the stamped white cardstock rectangle.
Leave the stamp rubber side up on your work surface. Ink up the small butterfly image in the lower right corner using the Terracotta Tile Ink Pad. Leave the inked up stamp rubber side up on your work surface. Place the 1-3/4" x 2-1/2" white rectangle on top of the inked up stamp so it covers the small butterfly image. Fold the Grid Paper over on top of the stamp with cardstock on top and rub firmly all over. Unfold the Grid Paper and remove the stamped white cardstock rectangle.
Place the butterflies stamped white cardstock pieces on some Grid Paper on your work surface. Rub a Blending Brush across the open Gray Granite Ink Pad or Petal Pink Ink Pad to get it inky. Lightly rub the inky Blending Brush all over the butterflies stamped on the white cardstock pieces. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.
Tip: If you used a piece of mostly pink designer paper for your belly band, then use Gray Granite Ink to color in your butterflies. If you used a piece of mostly gray designer paper for your belly band, then use the Petal Pink Ink to color in your butterflies.
Tip: I just clean my Blending Brushes when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Pick out the large, open, interconnected butterflies die from the Brilliant Wings Dies. Place the die on top of one of the stamped and sponged butterflies on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the butterfly you want to cut out. Run through the machine. Repeat with the other butterfly image.
Adhere the large swallowtail butterfly cut out to the top of the belly band at a slight angle so it is just to the left of the sentiment label cut out and the bottom right wing overlaps the upper left of the sentiment label cut out a small amount.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the small butterfly cut out to the top of the belly band at a slight angle so it is above the sentiment label cut out and just to the right of the large butterfly cut out.
Pick out the single, matching, detailed, large, swallowtail butterfly die from the Brilliant Wings Dies. Place the die on top of the Petal Pink or Terracotta Tile rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Lightly bend up the wings of the detailed butterfly cut out.
Use a thin line of Fine-Tip Glue Pen or Multipurpose Liquid Glue down the back of the detailed butterfly cut out body to adhere the detailed butterfly cut out to the top of the belly band so it is centered over the stamped, solid, swallowtail butterfly cut out.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a large, frosted droplet from a sheet of Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the detailed butterfly cut out body near the top.
