Beautiful Peacock Bird on Blend |
Q uick and easy, but pretty, card using Stampin' Up! products.
|
|
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Island Indigo Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Rich Razzleberry Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Whisper White Cardstock
Place the white rectangle on the Grid Paper to protect your work surface since the Stampin' Blends Markers will bleed through the cardstock.
Use the Light Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Blends Marker to lightly scribble some color onto the white cardstock. The block of color should be about 1/2" in from the right side, 1" in from the left side, 3/4" up from the bottom, and 1-1/4" from the top.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends Marker to soften the edges of the color block by swirling the brush tip around the edges.
As you are ready to stamp on the white cardstock using the Beautiful Peacock Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the bird body image from the Beautiful Peacock Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Island Indigo Ink Pad. Stamp it on the colored block on the white rectangle so the bird's top knot goes off the top of the color block and the tail feather tips are about 1-1/2" in from the right side of the white rectangle.
Mount the curved feather image from the Beautiful Peacock Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Rich Razzleberry Ink Pad. Stamp it on the white rectangle so that the feathers are curving up from the tip of the tail towards the bird's head. WITHOUT re-inking, stamp the feathers again slightly to the left of the first feathers. Re-ink the stamp and stamp once on Grid Paper. WITHOUT re-inking, stamp the feathers again slightly to the right of the first feathers.
Mount the scattered dots image on Block B. Lightly ink it up with the Island Indigo Ink Pad. Stamp it somewhere over the bird's tail feathers. Re-ink and stamp again.
Tip: Use a very light touch when inking the stamp up or you will get ink blobs where you don't want them.
Mount the "Beautiful Friend" sentiment from the Beautiful Peacock Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Island Indigo Ink Pad. Stamp it on the white rectangle in the bottom left corner of the Rich Razzleberry color block so that it overlaps the color block a bit.
Mount the medium open flower image on Block A. Ink it up with the Rich Razzleberry Ink Pad and stamp it randomly around the bird image. Remember to re-ink each time.
Tip: Be very careful when cleaning this little stamp with the Stampin' Scrub. If you scrub too hard, the stamp can come off the block and go flying! Since it is photopolymer and completely clear, it can be very difficult to find!
Place the stamped white rectangle on the Grid Paper again to protect your work surface since the Stampin' Blends Markers will bleed through the cardstock.
Use the Dark Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Blends Marker to color in the bird's wing.
Adhere the stamped and colored white rectangle to the Rich Razzleberry rectangle and then to the front of the Island Indigo card.
Carefully remove 3 small rhinestones from a sheet of Rhinestone Basic Jewels making sure you get the adhesive as well as the rhinestones. Adhere them randomly to the card front around the peacock's tail.
