Banner Year Fall Pop Out Stripes |
F all card using direct-to-paper technique and Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/2" from Cajun Craze Cardstock
- 4" x 5-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1" x 3-1/4" from Cajun Craze Cardstock
If you haven't already done so, use the ink refills to ink up four of the Uninked Stampin' Spots.
Tip: Put a label on top of each Uninked Stampin' Spot with the name of the color you used to ink it up written on it so you'll remember which color it is later!
Lay the white cardstock on some Grid Paper vertically. Use the lines on the Grid Paper and a ruler to lightly draw vertical lines down the left and right sides of the white cardstock 1/4" in from each side.
One at a time, lightly drag an open Ink Spot across the white cardstock horizontally so you have four streaky lines of color across the cardstock that are about 1/4" apart. Start off the cardstock on the left or right side and drag across until you go off the cardstock on the other side. The lines do not have to be straight and the streaks don't have to be super dark or filled in.
I used Cherry Cobbler at the top, then Cajun Craze, then Merry Merlot, and finally Early Espresso at the bottom.
As you are ready to stamp using the Banner Year Photopolymer Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the little squirrel image from the Banner Year Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Early Espresso Ink Spot. Stamp the squirrel on the left side of the streaked white cardstock so it is even with the bottom of the Early Espresso streak and the tail of the squirrel goes over the pencil line drawn on the left edge (but don't go over the edge of the cardstock).
Mount the little maple leaf image from the Banner Year Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Cherry Cobbler Ink Spot. Stamp the leaf three times on the top of the streaked white cardstock so it is stamped over the Cherry Cobbler streak. Make sure one of the leaves goes over the pencil line drawn on the left edge (but don't go over the edge of the cardstock). Change the orientation of the image each time you stamp and remember to re-ink each time you stamp. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub and/or Simply Shammy, but leave it on the block.
Re-ink the little maple leaf image on Block A using the Merry Merlot Ink Spot. Stamp the leaf three times on the streaked white cardstock so it is stamped over the Merry Merlot streak. Make sure one of the leaves goes over the pencil line drawn on the right edge (but don't go over the edge of the cardstock). Change the orientation of the image each time you stamp and remember to re-ink each time you stamp.
Mount the little acorn image from the Banner Year Set on Block A Ink it up with the Cajun Craze Ink Spot. Stamp the acorn three times on the streaked white cardstock so it is stamped over the Cajun Craze streak. Change the orientation of the image each time you stamp and remember to re-ink each time you stamp.
Use Paper Snips to cut along the pencil lines drawn on the right and left edges, but cut around the bits of maple leaf and the squirrel tail that hang over the penciled line.
Use the eraser on the pencil to erase any pencil lines if necessary.
Adhere the streaked, stamped, and cut white layer to the large Cajun Craze layer so it is centered in the middle with the top and bottom edges being even.
Adhere the matted white and Cajun Craze layers to the front of the Cherry Cobbler card so it is centered in the middle with the top and bottom edges being even.
Mount the "Happy fall, y'all!" sentiment from the Banner Year Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Early Espresso Ink Spot. Stamp it in the center of one end of the narrow Cajun Craze strip. Leave room to punch the sentiment out.
Unlock the Classic Label Punch. Hold it upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Put a line of Mini Stampin' Dimensionals across the back of the sentiment punch out. Remove the protective backings, but leave the sentiment punch out sticky dimensionals face up on your work surface.
Wrap some Linen Thread around three of your fingers about 3 times. Cut the thread from the spool. Adhere the loops of thread to the sticky dimensionals on the back of the sentiment label punch out.
Adhere the sentiment label punch out with Linen Thread attached to the bottom of the card front so it is over the Early Espresso streak and to the right of the stamped squirrel image.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 3 different sized dots from a sheet of Gold Glitter Enamel Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them randomly to the front of the card.
