Art Gallery Crumpled Flower Thanks |
P retty thank you card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and cotton paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Soft Succulent Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Evening Evergreen Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" of diagonal lines of light green leaves on darker green background design from Ever Eden 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 4-1/2" square of Soft Succulent cotton paper from Ever Eden 12" x 12" Cotton Paper
- 1" x 3" from Evening Evergreen Cardstock
Adhere the piece of Ever Eden Specialty Designer Paper to the center of the large Evening Evergreen rectangle.
Cut a 6" piece of the Gold 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the horizontal designer paper/cardstock rectangle so it is about 1-1/4" from the bottom. Fold the ends of the ribbon over and secure the ribbon in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the Evening Evergreen rectangle. Adhere to the front of the Soft Succulent card.
Pick out the smallest tag with scalloped top die from the Tailor Made Tags Dies. Put it on top of the Evening Evergreen strip on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
As you are ready to stamp using the Art Gallery Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the short sentiment of choice from the Art Gallery Set on Block G. Ink it up with the VersaMark Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the tag cut out with the top of the tag on the left side.
Carefully rub the right end of the tag across the open VersaMark Pad to get it inky. Make sure not to smear the stamped sentiment.
Lay the stamped sentiment tag cut out on top of some Grid Paper in the center. Sprinkle on some gold powder from the Metallics Stampin' Emboss Powders so it covers the entire sentiment and the inky right end of the tag. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool until it is completely melted (shiny and smooth).
Tip: Use a clothespin to hold the cardstock while using the Heat Tool to avoid burning your fingers.
Use Tear & Tape Adhesive to adhere the stamped and heat embossed sentiment tag cut out to the right side of the card front so it is horizontal and is centered over the ribbon on the card front. The right end of the tag should be about 3/4" from the right edge of the card.
Pick out the scalloped circle dies from the Layering Circles Dies that cut out scalloped circles that are 1-3/16", 1-1/2", and 1-3/4" diameter. Put all three dies on top of the cotton paper square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Leave room to cut another 1-1/2" circle out of the cotton paper in the next step. Run through the machine.
Put the 1-1/2" scalloped circle die back on top of the rest of the cotton paper square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
On top of the Stampin' Pierce Mat, lay the 4 circle cut outs on top of each other so the shinier side of the cotton paper is up on all of the circles. They don't have to be evenly spaced.
Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to poke a hole through the center of the stacked circle cut outs.
Pick out a small round brad from the Round & Square Brads (color doesn't really matter).
Insert the prongs of the brad through the hole. Flip the circles over and flatten out the prongs for now.
Use your fingers to crumple the cotton paper circles in towards the center. Then, smooth them back out a bit to make a flower.
Unflatten the prongs on the back of the cotton paper flower so you can clamp them in the clothespin.
Lightly dab and brush the edges of the crumpled cotton paper flower across the open VersaMark Ink Pad while holding the clothespin clamped on the prongs of the brad.
Dip the crumpled cotton paper flower into the gold powder from the Metallics Stampin' Emboss Powders to get a little powder on the edges while holding the clothespin clamped on the prongs of the brad.
Heat the powder on the edges of the crumpled cotton paper using the Heat Tool until it is completely melted (shiny and smooth) while holding the clothespin clamped to the prongs of the brad.
Release the crumpled cotton paper flower from the clothespin and allow to cool.
Flatten the prongs of the brad back out on the back of the flower.
Put a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive across the flattened out prongs on the back of the flower. Remove the backing from the Tear & Tape. Adhere the flower to the front of the card so it is centered over the ribbon and covers the left end of the sentiment tag cut out.
Pick out 2 large leaves and 1 small leaf from the Gold Holly Leaves. Adhere them to the front of the card using Mini Glue Dots so the ends are tucked under the crumpled paper flower as shown.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a small gem from a sheet of Gilded Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the top of the brad in the center of the crumpled paper flower.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a medium or large gem from a sheet of Gilded Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the upper right corner of the card front.
