Along These Lines Bicycle Birthday |
C lean and simple birthday card made with Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Gorgeous Grape Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Balmy Blue Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Basic White Cardstock
- 3/4" x 5-1/8" from Balmy Blue Cardstock
As you are ready to stamp using the Along These Lines Set or Blooming Phrases Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the bicycle image from the Along These Lines Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Gorgeous Grape Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the horizontal white rectangle. WITHOUT LIFTING THE STAMP, slide the stamp to the left a small amount. This will create a lighter shadow image.
Mount the "birthday" sentiment from the Blooming Phrases Set on Block H. Ink up ONLY the tail by pressing it carefully to the open Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp the tail on the white rectangle so it lines up as closely as possible with the tail at the back of the bicycle on the left side. Re-ink the tail ONLY and stamp it on the white rectangle so it lines up as closely as possible with the tail at the front of the bicycle on the right side. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and Stampin' Scrub and/or Simply Shammy, but leave it on the block.
Re-ink the "birthday" sentiment on Block H with the Gorgeous Grape Ink Pad. Stamp it on the right side of the thin, horizontal, Balmy Blue strip so the "b" is near the center of the strip and the tail goes off the right edge.
Mount the "happy" sentiment from the Blooming Phrases Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Gorgeous Grape Ink Pad. Stamp it on the left side of the thin, horizontal, Balmy Blue strip so the tail at the end is as close as possible to the "b" in the center of the strip. Re-ink only the tail by pressing it carefully to the open Gorgeous Grape Ink Pad. Stamp it on the left side of the Balmy Blue strip so it is as close as possible to the "h".
Rub a Blending Brush across the open Balmy Blue Ink Pad to get it inky. Rub off some excess ink on Grid Paper. Then, lightly rub the inky blending brush over the center of the stamped white rectangle in a circular motion. Get more ink on the blending brush as needed.
Adhere the stamped sentiment strip to the stamped and blended white rectangle so it is just below the stamped bicycle and lines.
Adhere the layered white rectangle to the center of the large Balmy Blue rectangle and then to the front of the Gorgeous Grape card.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 2 small gems from the sheet of Two Tone Sparkle Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the centers of the wheels of the bicycle on the card front as shown.
