ALCOHOL STAMPIN BLENDS ON VELLUM WITH GOLD GILDED FLAKES |
|
U sing Stampin Blends and alcohol blending solution, you can create some gorgeous backgrounds to put on any style card. These backgrounds are so stunning I don't think you need to add much more apart from a sentiment.
I tend to do a whole sheet of vellum when I do this project and I can get 3 to 4 cards out of one sheet.
So over a sheet of vellum, scribble blocks of Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Soft Succulent. then in smaller blocks scribble crumb cake. You can use either dark or light colours of the blends depending on the depth of colour you wish to achieve
Using an alchol blending solution of your choice, I use Isopropyl alcohol from Bunnings (I am in Australia) as this near pure alcohol and I find this blends the colours best, I have tried methylated spirits which is cheap but very smelly and I have also used a specific alcohol blending solution but this can be quite expensive. The isoropyl comes in a spray bottle which works well for me.
Spray your whole sheet of colour vellum with the solution and as you spray, use your heat tool to disperse the colours around. DO NOT OVERHEAT!!! This will dry very quickly. You can add more colour and more solution as you wish. I like to make some with darker "puddle borders".
Once you have your vellum covered to your liking, rub the dry entire sheet with your embossing body to take away and grease marks. Add some versamark refil onto an acrylic block. With a dried up used Blender Pen (or marker that is dried).dip your pen into the versarmark and draw thin lines along the borders of the colours to look like veins of gold. Sprinkle this with your heat and Stick powder and then dip in gold gilded flakes. Rub off excess gold
You can always add more gold if you wish. When you are happy with your sheet, sponge on liquid glue over the back of the entire sheet. When glue is dry, cut to desired size. I cut mine to 9.5 x 13.8cms. I then cut a piece of black cardstock to 10 x 14.3cms and mounted my white/vellum onto the black cardstock.
Stamp your sentiment in versamark onto black cardstock and heat emboss with gold embossing powder. I used the Hey There stamp from Charming Sentiments and the co-ordinating die. Simply adhere your sentiment and then adhere to your basic white cardbase.
