Adventurous Sky Fun Fold Birthday Plane |
M asculine, fun fold birthday made with Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Cardstock at 4-1/4" x 11" and scored at 2-3/4" x 5-1/2"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-3/4" x 4" of dark green map design from Take To The Sky Designer Series Paper, cut so the map is vertical on the vertical rectangle
- 2-1/2" x 4" of white clouds on light blue background design from Take To The Sky Designer Series Paper, cut so the clouds are horizontal on the vertical rectangle
- 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" from Boho Blue Cardstock
- 2" x 3-3/4" from Smoky Slate Cardstock
Fold the Night Of Navy card in half at the 5-1/2" score mark. Then fold on the 2-3/4" score mark so the front of the card folds back on itself making a "z fold" card. Use the Bone Folder to get sharp creases.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Adventurous Sky Set on an appropriate size block. Ink it up with the Night Of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp it in the upper left corner of the horizontal white rectangle.
Adhere the piece of map Take To The Sky Designer Paper to the right side of the stamped, horizontal white rectangle so the top, bottom, and right edges are even.
Adhere the stamped white rectangle with designer paper attached to the inside flap of the card.
Adhere the cloudy sky Take To The Sky Designer Paper rectangle to the small front flap on the left of the card front.
Pick out the large, angular label die that cuts out a label that is 4-5/16" long from the Nested Essentials Dies. Put it on top of the Boho Blue rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Put the label cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. Mount the riveted metal strips image from the Adventurous Sky Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Boho Blue Ink Pad. Stamp it all over the label cut out. Try to line up the edges as much as possible. Don't worry if the center of the label is left unstamped. Let some of the images go off the edges of the label. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
Use small strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the back, left side ONLY of the stamped label cut out. Remove the protective backings and adhere the label cut out to the front of the folded close card so it is centered top to bottom and the points in the center of the label cut out are on the right edge of the clouds designer paper rectangle. Make sure NO adhesive goes over the fold line or your card will be sealed shut.
Mount the largest biplane image from the Adventurous Sky Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Night Of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Smoky Slate rectangle.
Pick out the matching, open, large plane die from the Adventurous Sky Dies. Put it on top of the stamped plane image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the image is centered in the die. Run through the machine.
Put the plane cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. Use the Wink Of Stella Glitter Brush to paint some shimmer all over the circle on the front of the plane to give the illusion that the propeller is spinning.
Adhere the plane cut out to the front of the card so it is centered on the label cut out.
Use Mini Glue Dots to adhere an Industrial Trinket to each end of the label cut out so they are centered up and down. Adhere them so the top of the bolt side is face up.
