Adorable Owls Red Heart |
S weet card made using Stampin' Up! products including one that can be earned for FREE during Sale-A-Bration 2023.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Real Red Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Smoky Slate Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" of small red plaid design from Gingham Cottage 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 1-3/4" x 2" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1/2" x 3-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1/4" x 3-1/2" from Smoky Slate Cardstock
- small scrap of small red plaid design from Gingham Cottage 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
Unlock the Happy Labels Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the thin white strip into the left side of the punch (the side of the punch with the small, rounded scallops) as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch. Leave the punch unlocked.
Hold the unlocked Happy Labels Pick A Punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide one short edge of the thin Smoky Slate strip into the side of the punch with the small, rounded scallops and get it centered. Punch.
Mount the "hoot! hoot! you're so cute" sentiment from the Adorable Owls Set on Block G. Ink up only the "hoot! hoot!" words using the side of the brush tip of the Real Red Stampin' Write Marker. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink. Stamp the sentiment in the center of the punched white strip closer to the right edge with the punched end on the right side.
Adhere the thin strip of punched Smoky Slate cardstock to the back of the stamped white sentiment strip so about 1/4" of the Smoky Slate sticks out on the punched, right end and it is centered top to bottom.
Adhere the stamped and layered sentiment strip to the bottom left side of the horizontal Gingham Cottage Designer Paper rectangle so it is about 1/2" from the bottom and there is about 1-1/2" of unstamped white strip between the left edge of the sentiment and the left edge of the designer paper. Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off any excess white cardstock hanging over the left edge of the designer paper as needed.
Adhere the designer paper rectangle with sentiment strip attached to the center of the large Smoky Slate rectangle and then to the front of the Real Red card.
Mount the owl with party hat image from the Adorable Owls Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white rectangle. Don't worry if you don't get the entire party hat, you are going to cut it off anyway.
Place the stamped owl on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light and Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends to color in the owls' eyes, beak, and feet.
Use the Light and Dark Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends to color in the owl's head and ears, wings, and body around his belly.
Use the Light and Dark Gray Granite Stampin' Blends to color in the owl's face and belly.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends as needed to remove excess color.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the owl by hand. Cut off the party hat.
Adhere the cut out owl to the front of the card so his feet overlap the white sentiment strip just to the left of the stamped sentiment as shown.
Pick out one of the sets of two little hearts dies from the Conversation Bubbles Dies. Put it on top of the small scrap of red gingham designer paper on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere one of the small heart cut outs to the front of the card so it is centered over the owls wings over his belly.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up two large Basic Gray dots from the sheet of Classic Matte Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere one in the upper right corner of the card and one in the center of the sentiment strip between the owl cut out and the left edge of the card.
