Wood Grain Card & Gift Card Box |
|
T his is a masculine card that could be used for any occasion with a matching gift card box.
Cutting:
5 7/8 x 5 7/8 Early Expresso Cardstock (2)
3 3/4 x 2 1/4 Designer Series Paper (2)
5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Early Expresso Cardstock
5 1/2 x 2 1/4 and 3 7/8 x 1 1/2 DSP
4 1/4 x 3 1/4 DSP
Crumb Cake for Labels
Early Expresso for Label
Making the Box:
Using the envelop punch board:
Punch the top side at 3" and score the diagonal.
Punch the same side at 3 3/4" and score the diagonal.
Then punch the bottom side at 3" and core the diagonal.
Punch the same side at 3 3/4" and score the diagonal.
Next comes the left edge. Align the score lines on the diagonal and then punch. Do the same for the second diagonal and punch.
The right side is done the same way.
You need to do this twice to make a top and bottom piece for the box.
Score the sides of the box by aligning the flaps at the score line. Do this for the four lines you need to fold up the sides of box.
Cut off the four flap pieces.
Cut down to the score line to create the flaps to hold the box sides together.
Using Tear & Tape put a small piece on the outside of each flap and adhere the sides of the box. Be sure the flaps go in opposite directions on the top and bottom so that the box fits together better.
Adhere one 3 3/4 x 2/14 piece of DSP to the inside bottom of the box.
Adhere the other to the top of the box.
Using Early Expresso Ink create the label on Crumb Cake and cut with the Big Shot. Sponge the edges with Early Expresso. Since brads are coming back, I added bronze brads to the label.
Tie the burlap ribbon around the box.
Making the Card:
Score the card base at 4 1/4 and fold.
Adhere the 3 7/8 x 1 1/2 piece of DSP to the edge of the coordinating 4 1/4 x 3 1/4 DSP overlapping to create the right width.
Adhere both to the card base.
Next add the longer strip of DSP.
Create the label on Crumb Cake using Early Expresso Ink and cut on the Big Shot. Sponge the edges.
Next cut the next larger label from Early Expresso.
Wrap a piece of Burlap Ribbon around the center of the EE Label and then layer on the CC label.
Using the small hand held punch, punch a small hole through both pieces for the brad at the top and bottom. Add the label using Dimensionals.
