Panda Pop-up Nugget Valentine Box

Supplies needed:

Project Recipe:

1. Preparing the Box Bottom:
   1. Cut a piece of Melon Mambo 4 1/2 x 6.
   2. Score at 3/4" and 1 1/2" on all sides.
   3. Cut away the two small squares at all four corners. This will cut the 4 1/2" ends down to 1 1/2".
   4. Cut the small square at all four corners to make a step effect. This makes flaps at both ends. The cut down to the score line.
   5. On the outside of the box, add Tear & Tape to the 4 small flaps.. Flip over and adhere the box together. Check to make sure they are all even with the score line so the inside flaps will lie flat. You may need to trim the edges.
   6. Add tear & tape to all 4 remaining flaps and then fold down into the box.

2. Adding the Candy Dividers:
   1. Use two of the double squares cut from the edges of the box. Score at 3/8" and 1 1/8" on the horizontal.
   2. Add adhesive to the first and last rectangle formed by the scoring. Squeeze middle two rectangles together and then adhere the divider in the box bottom using a nugget for placement.
   3. Repeat with second piece.

3. Creating the Pop-ups:
   1. Stamp the panda holding the letter in Archival Black Ink on Whisper White Cardstock.
   2. Color the small heart on the envelope with the Melon Mambo marker.
   3. Cut out 2 Melon Mambo Hearts and 1 Whisper White Heart.
   4. Stamp "with love" on one Melon Mambo Heart, and "love is sweet" on the other with Black Archival Ink.
   5. Stamp From Me to You on the Whisper White Heart.
   6. Cut out the Panda.
   7. Cut a strip of Window Sheet 1/4 x 2 and another 1/4 x 1 1/2.
   8. Attach the 2" piece to the inside the front of the box and attach the Panda so that the feet are level with the top of the box.
   9. Attach the 1 1/2" piece to the first divider. Arrange the hearts so that they fit inside the box and don't go all the way to the back so that they pop when you open the box without having to remove the entire lid.

4. Create the Sliding Lid:
   1. Cut a 3 1/8 x 5 1/2 piece of DSP.
   2. On the 5 1/2" length: score at 1 1/8; 2; 3 5/8; and 4 1/2.
   3. Crease on the score lines and wrap around the box to test fit.
   4. Attach tear & Tape to the end of the bottom flap and adhere while wrapped around the box.
   5. Punch a 1 3/8" scallop circle in Melon Mambo.
   6. Punch a 1 1/8" scallop circle in Gold Foil.
   7. Adhere the Gold Foil to the Melon Mambo and then with a dimensional add the Melon Mambo stamped heart to the top. Adhere to the center of the box lid.
