Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Lovely Lipstick Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 2 pieces each 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic Gray Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2-3/4" square from Smoky Slate Cardstock
- 3-1/2" square from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2-1/2" square from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 5-1/2" from Lovely Lipstick Cardstock, scored at 1-5/8" and 1-1/2"
Lightly spritz one of the Basic Gray rectangles with water and insert into the Stone 3D Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the paper inside on your die cutting and embossing tool and run through the machine. Set aside to dry.
Fold the Lovely Lipstick strip on both score lines so the strip folds over on itself.
Unlock the Banner Triple Punch. Slide the short edge of the long part of the Lovely Lipstick strip into the punch as far as it will go. Punch.
Open the Lovely Lipstick card. Use Tear & Tape Adhesive to adhere the short, unpunched end of the Lovely Lipstick strip to the right inside of the open card so the bottom of the Lovely Lipstick strip is 1-1/2" from the bottom of the card and the right edge of the card is centered between the two score lines on the Lovely Lipstick strip. The punched end of the strip should be loose and should fold over the front of the card when the card is closed.
Adhere the 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" Whisper White rectangle to the center of the other Basic Gray rectangle.
Adhere the matted white/gray cardstock to the inside of the card so it covers the end of the Lovely Lipstick strip.
Mount the pagoda image from the Power of Hope Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Lovely Lipstick Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the large white square.
Use the Blender Pen to pull ink out from the edges of the stamped image towards the center to color in the roof portions of the stamped pagoda image. Remember to stroke in one direction only or the cardstock will tear and pill up.
Tip: Scribble on Grid Paper until no more color is coming off the Blender Pen to clean it.
Pick out the smooth square die from the Layering Squares Dies that cuts out a square that is 2-1/8" wide. Put it on top of the stamped pagoda white square at an angle on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the image is centered inside a diamond shape. Run through the tool.
Pick out the smooth square die from the Layering Squares Dies that cuts out a square that is 2-3/8" wide. Put it on top of the Smoky Slate square on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool.
Adhere the pagoda diamond cut out to the center of the Smoky Slate diamond cut out.
Close the card and make sure the Lovely Lipstick flap is on top. Adhere the matted pagoda diamond to the strip so it is centered top to bottom and the left point is centered in the punched notch and the right point almost touches the right edge of the folded strip. Be careful NOT to get adhesive past the edges of the strip or the card will not open.
If the dry embossed Basic Gray rectangle is dry, proceed with the next step.
Tip: You can speed up drying with a Heat Tool if needed.
Adhere the dry embossed Basic Gray rectangle to the front of the Lovely Lipstick card. Make sure the Lovely Lipstick strip/pagoda diamond are out of the way.
Mount the "Hope is the power..." sentiment from the Power of Hope Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Lovely Lipstick Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the small white square.
Pick out the smooth square die from the Layering Squares Dies that cuts out a square that is 1-7/16" wide. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment white square at an angle on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the sentiment is centered inside a diamond shape. Run through the tool.
Adhere the sentiment diamond to the front of the card so it will be hidden by the pagoda diamond when the Lovely Lipstick/pagoda diamond strip is closed over the front of the card.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 3 Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the upper left corner of the card in a rough triangle.
