P op up your gift cards!
Project Recipe
To make the card, cut an 8.5" x 11" color cardstock in half lengthwise at 4.25".
Score at 4.5", 5.5" & 6.5".
Fold on score lines as shown. Use a bone folder to make sure the folds are crisp and even.
Place a strip of Tear n Tape or a similar heavy duty adhesive near one of the outer score lines as shown. Adhere together.
Here is what you should have after you make your mountain fold.
To make the slot to hold the gift card, I've used the Word Label punch by lining up the edge of the folds with the edge of the punch. This Word Label punch is now retired so if you don't have this one you can use anything similar.
Slide the punch over and line it up with the opposite side.
If you have a little nib in the middle just trim it off with scissors.
Here's the inside of the card before you decorate it!
The Word Label punch is now retired, but you can get a similar look using the Everyday Label punch like I've done here.
The finished card size is 4.25" x 4.5" so to make a matching envelope you will need the Envelope Punch Board. Find a 12"x 12" double sided Designer Series Paper you like & cut a 7.5" x 7.5" square. Score and punch as directed for this size card/envelope. From the excess you will cut 4 mats of 4.25" x 4". Decorate the inside and outside of card as desired.
For my card I've used Cherry Cobbler cardstock, the Be Merry DSP, Layering Circles framelits dies & the Oh, What Fun! stamp set. I've decorated the envelope with a tag I made previously. You can find directions for the tag on my blog.
Here are some more examples using retired papers and embellishments.
