F un, summer-themed card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and adhesive sheet pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Crushed Curry Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Tangerine Tango Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 3-1/4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 4-1/2" from Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets
- 1-1/2" x 4-1/2" of a Crushed Curry pattern from Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack
Pick out the "sunshine" thinlit from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits and the sunglasses framelit from the Pocket Framelits. Place them on the Tangerine Tango rectangle in the rough positions of the cut outs you'll be applying later.
Mount the "You Are My" sentiment from the Sunshine Sayings Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Soft Suede Ink Pad. Stamp it on the Tangerine Tango rectangle so it will be over the "un" of the "sunshine" cut out. Return the thinlit and framelit to the bags you got them out of for now.
Place the stamped Tangerine Tango rectangle into the Polka Dot Basics Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the card stock inside on top of a Cutting Pad on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place another Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the stamped, dry embossed Tangerine Tango layer to the front of the Crushed Curry card.
Choose which side of the Crushed Curry design from the Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack you want showing. Remove the protective backing from the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet strip and stick the designer paper strip to it so that the side of the paper you want to use is facing up.
Pick out the "sunshine" thinlit from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits. Place the strip of designer paper attached to the adhesive sheet on the Precision Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the "sunshine" thinlit on top. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush and the Paper-Piercing Tool to carefully remove the cut out. Do NOT throw away the scraps of designer paper. You will be cutting out a tiny heart to use as the dot on the "i" later.
Remove the protective backing from the back of the word "sunshine" and adhere the word to the card front at a slight angle so that the "un" is under the words "You Are My."
Pick out the tiny heart inside a square framelit from the Pocket Framelits. Place a scrap of the designer paper stuck to the adhesive sheet on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the tiny heart inside a square framelit on top so that you'll cut out the heart. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. Use the Die Brush or Paper-Piercing Tool to remove the heart.
Remove the protective backing from the back of the heart and adhere it over the "i" as the dot.
Mount the sunglasses image from the Pocketful of Sunshine Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Soft Suede Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the strip of vanilla cardstock.
Tip: For a good solid image, you might want to place the cardstock on top of the Stampin' Pierce Mat before stamping.
Pick out the sunglasses framelit from the Pocket Framelits. Place the stamped sunglasses image on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the sunglasses framelit on top so it is centered over the stamped image. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Use the brush tip of the Crushed Curry Marker to color in the frames of the sunglasses.
Adhere the sunglasses at a slight downward angle to the front of the card. Let the upper left side of the sunglasses overlap the "s" at the beginning of the word just a bit.
Cut a 16" piece of Crushed Curry Solid Baker's Twine. Double the piece of twine over on itself. Tie a small bow. Trim the ends. Adhere the bow to the upper left side of the sunglasses using a Mini Glue Dot.
