Q uick and easy Christmas cards using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4" (I used Shaded Spruce, Bumblebee, Cherry Cobbler, and Misty Moonlight)
- 4" x 5-1/4" of holiday color plaid pattern from Plaid Tidings 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper
- 2-5/8" x 4-5/8" from cardstock (I used Cherry Cobbler, Bumblebee, and Misty Moonlight)
- 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2" x 3-1/4" from matching holiday color plaid pattern from Plaid Tidings 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper
Adhere the piece of Plaid Tidings Designer Paper to the front of the card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Perfectly Plaid Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the plaid Christmas tree image from the Perfectly Plaid Set on Block C. Ink it up with an ink pad that matches one of the colors in your designer paper (I used Shaded Spruce, Bumblebee, Cherry Cobbler, and Misty Moonlight). Stamp it on the left side of the horizontal white strip as close as possible to the left edge and slightly closer to the top. Leave the stamp on the block.
Re-ink the plaid Christmas tree image on Block C with the same color of ink. Stamp it again on the horizontal white rectangle so it is in line with the first stamped tree image and the bottom branches almost touch.
Tip: If you plan to make more cards using a different color of ink, be sure to clean the stamp between ink colors using the Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and Stampin' Scrub and/or Simply Shammy.
Mount the "Merry Christmas" sentiment from the Perfectly Plaid Set on Block C. Ink it up with a color of ink pad that matches one of the colors in the designer paper (I used Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce). Stamp it on the horizontal white rectangle in the lower right corner. It will overlap the right edge of the right stamped tree a bit.
Tip: If you plan to make more cards using a different color of ink, be sure to clean the stamp between ink colors using the Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and Stampin' Scrub and/or Simply Shammy.
Adhere the stamped white rectangle to the 2-5/8" x 4-5/8" rectangle of cardstock.
Adhere the matted, stamped white rectangle to the front of the card so it is centered side to side and slightly closer to the top edge.
Unlock the Pine Tree Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the strip of designer paper into the punch. Punch.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the plaid tree punch out to the card front so it is centered between the two stamped plaid tree images and is slightly lower.
Cut an 8" piece of trim/twine (I used the Gold 1/16" Trim from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack and the Misty Moonlight/silver Baker's Twine from the Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack).
Fold the trim/twine in half. Tie the folded trim/twine around the base of the plaid tree punch out using a knot. Trim the ends. Fray the ends if desired.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a large gem from a sheet of gems making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well (I used a large Gilded Gem and a large Night Of Navy Blue Adhesive-Backed Gem). Adhere it to the card front so it is tucked under the top of the plaid tree punch out a tiny bit.
