A quick and easy Gift Box made using items from the Perennial Essence Suite.
Project Recipe
Cut a strip of Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper measuring 12" x 2.25" and use the Detailed Trio Punch to cut the ornate corner design out from two corners on one short edge as shown. Then, using the corner rounder, round the same corners.
Take the Mini Shipping Box and fold each of the score lines. Keeping the box flat, attach the un-punched end of the DSP strip to the front edge of the box as shown, making sure it is flush to the edge with even borders either side.
Make up the box, sticking the base flaps down with the small flaps inside and the long flaps outside - make sure the long sides do not overlap.
Put your box to one side.
Wrap and stick the DSP Strip around the box using your fingers to crease the paper along the edges. Stop sticking once you get to the tuck-in flap - you don't want to stick the paper to this part of the box.
Cut 4 lengths of the Organdy Striped Ribbon measuring 6.5" and 4 lengths measuring 4.5".
Take each length in turn and, using Tear & Tape attach the two ends to each other by overlapping to form a circle. Fold the circle at the join so you can find the opposite point then, using another piece of Tear & Tape, attach the inside of the join to the inside of the opposite side, forming two equal loops.
Repeat this with the remaing three long lengths and the four shorter lengths.
Once you have your 8 bow loops made, attach two bows of the same length together to form a cross, then attach these to each other to form a rosette. Repeat with the remaining lengths to finish with two rosettes as shown.
Finally, attach the smaller rosette on top of the larger one to form a gift bow. Attach a Floral Centre to the centre of your bow.
Put your bow to one side.
Take a length of Organdy Ribbon measuring 14.5" and, with a piece of Tear & Tape attached to one end, stick this to the top of the box, in the middle of the piece of DSP.
DON'T FORGET TO ADD YOUR GIFT BEFORE GOING ANY FURTHER!
With the front flap of the box tucked inside, use a small amount of Tear & Tape to attach the DSP flap to the front of the box as shown.
Continue wrapping the long length of ribbon around the box, attaching it occasionally with a Mini Glue Dot. Finish off by overlapping the start end and attaching with a piece of Tear & Tape.
Cut a piece of Whisper White Cardstock to measure 3.5" x 2". Use the Delightful Tag Topper Punch on one end of the strip to form a tag. Take a length of DSP 1/2" wide and attach it to the tag as shown.
Use the Detailed Trio Punch to round the corners at the bottom of the tag. Trim the overlapping DSP around the curve at the top of the tag with a pair of Paper Snips
Fold a length of Whisper White Baker's Twine measuring 6" in half, push the loop through the hole in the top of the tag, then push the ends through the loop and pull. Tie the tag to the ribbon you wrapped around the box with a bow.
Finally, using a piece of Tear & Tape or a couple of Mini Glue Dots, attach the bow to the top of the box.
Your Gift Box is now complete - sit back and admire your handiwork!
