Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Highland Heather Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3-3/4" from Highland Heather Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 2-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
As you are ready to stamp using the Penguin Place Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the long swoosh image from the Penguin Place Set on Block I. Ink it up with the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp it along the top of the horizontal 1-1/2" x 2-1/4" white rectangle so you get a slight mound near the center.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut along the top of the swoosh.
Mount the set of little snowflakes image from the Penguin Place Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Highland Heather Ink Pad and stamp it all over the Highland Heather rectangle. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Let some of the images go off the edges of the cardstock.
Adhere the cut down strip of white with the swoosh at the top to the bottom of the stamped Highland Heather rectangle. Don't put adhesive too close to the top of the swoosh so that you can tuck the penguin punch out behind it in a later step.
Pick out the rectangle die that cuts out a 1-13/16" x 3-3/16" stitched rectangle from the Stitched Rectangles Dies. Put it on top of the stamped and layered Highland Heather/white rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the top of the swoosh is centered side to side and is about 3/4" from the bottom of the die. Run through the machine several times to make sure you cut through the double layer of cardstock.
Mount the "season's greetings" sentiment from the Penguin Place Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad and stamp it at the top of the Highland Heather portion of the stitched rectangle cut out so it is centered side to side.
Mount the standing penguin image from the Penguin Place Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp the penguin so his head is on the bottom on the bottom edge of the 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" vertical white strip.
Unlock the Penguin Builder Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped penguin image into the punch and get it centered in the punching area of the full penguin body. Punch.
Mount the tiny, triangular beak image from the Penguin Place Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the penguin punch out face so the triangular beak is pointing down.
Adhere the completed penguin punch out to the stitched rectangle cut out so he his centered side to side and is tucked under the top of the swoosh.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the stitched rectangle cut out on the right side of the vertical 4" x 5-1/4" white rectangle so it is about 3/4" from the top and about 1/2" from the right.
One at a time, use Paper Snips Scissors to cut 1-3/4" strips of the Highland Heather and Black tape from the Glitter Washi Tape so they each have a sharp angle on the end as shown. Cut two pieces of Highland Heather tape and one of Black tape.
One at a time, carefully adhere the strips of Glitter Washi Tape to the white rectangle as shown so they will stick out to the left side of the stitched rectangle cut out about 1-1/4" from the top of the white rectangle.
When happy with the placement of the Glitter Washi Tape, adhere the stitched rectangle cut out in place using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Adhere the white rectangle to the front of the Highland Heather card.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 3 small stars from a sheet of Adhesive-Backed Stars making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the front of the card as shown.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 3 small jewels from a sheet of Rhinestone Basic Jewels making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the centers of the stars.
