Project Recipe
Cut a piece of black card, 7" x 10". Score at
2 1/2 " and 7 1/2" on the 10" side. Burnish and fold to make a gatefold card.
Cut a panel from black card measuring 8" x 3 1/2". Score each end at 1/2"
Cut 4 panels measuring 2 1/4" x 6 3/4" for the sides and a 3 1/4" x 6 3/4" for the inside panel.
Tear a piece of paper to create a mask for the snow and using Rich Razzleberry, Rococo Rose and Crushed Curry ink and the sponge brayers, create the sky on all 5 of these panels. Stick the 4 side panels in place, front and back.
Stick the sponged panel to the black centre panel. Cut a circle from this panel.
Stick the panel to the back of the card. Cut a circular frame from black card using 2 dies and stick in place.
Stamp 4 penguins using Stayzon ink and cut them out. Add some Crushed Curry ink to their beaks and feet.
Stick.
Stick a penguin on each of the side panels and one at the bottom of the back panel.
Cut a piece of Whisper White measuring 3 1/4" square. Line the card up behind the circle and using a pencil mark the circle.
Stamp the penguin and hat onto the white circle. Stamp the greeting, masking the words with tape as necessary.
Line the card behind the cut out circle and stick in place
Cut 2 pieces of black card measuring 3 1/2" x 3 3/4". Score at 1/2" on the 3 3/4" side on both pieces.
Along the 3 1/2" side mark at 1 3/4" and then measure in 1 1/2" from that mark and mark with a dot. Cut from the bottom corner up to the dot and then from the top corner back to the dot to create a large banner end.
Use this piece as a template and cut the second piece to match.
To form the shutter section, lay the two pieces of card with the banner ends together. Slide them together until they meet in the middle. Have one point laying over the top of the other at the top and underneath the other on the bottom.
Slide these entwined sections under the front panel and over the stamped penguin in his hat. Ensuring the scored edges of the shutter are lined up with the edge of the front panel, but double sided tape on the two side tabs. Close the side panels over the tape and press to adhere. When you open the card up, the shutter should open.
Die cut 3 of the snowflake flurries from glimmer card. Stick one each side of the front panels at the top. Cut the other in half and stick it top and bottom of the inside circular frame.
To create the belly band, cut a strip of card the full length of an A4 piece of card. The piece that is left after you have cut your 7" wide piece for the card base will work perfectly. Wrap it around the card and glue to form a band.
Create a topper by cutting a large circle from whisper white and a scalloped circle from black. Use the brayers to sponge the colours onto the white card. Stamp on the greeting. Stick on the final stamped penguin with dimensionals and add some snowflake sequins. Stick this topper to the band.
Slide the band onto the card
