P retty birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Real Red Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Night of Navy Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" of blue and white stucco pattern from In Good Taste Designer Series Paper
- 3-1/4" square from Night of Navy Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2" x 4-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
Cut a 10" piece of the Whisper White 1/2" Faux Linen Ribbon from the Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack.
Lay the ribbon piece on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. Use the brush tip of the Dark Real Red Stampin' Blends to color both sides of the ribbon. Keep coloring until you get the color saturation you want. Set the ribbon aside to let it dry.
Adhere the piece of In Good Taste Designer Paper to the large Night of Navy rectangle and then to the front of the Real Red card.
Pick out the large scribble circle die from the Painted Labels Dies. Put it on top of the Night of Navy square on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Mount the "happy birthday" sentiment from the Peaceful Moments Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Night of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the 2-1/4" x 3-1/2" white strip in the center. Leave room to punch it out.
Unlock the 2" Circle Punch. Hold it upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Adhere the sentiment circle punch out to the center of the scribble circle cut out.
Adhere the matted sentiment circle to the front of the card so the top edge of the scribble circle is about 1/2" from the top of the card and the left edge of the scribble circle is about 1" from the left side of the card.
Mount the large blob image from the Painted Poppies Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it all over the remaining strip of white cardstock. Stamp some of the images without re-inking the stamp. Let the images overlap and go off the edge of the cardstock.
Mount the small, single flower image from the Painted Poppies Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Night of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the red stamped white strip.
Mount the large, single flower image from the Painted Poppies Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Night of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp it on the other end of the red stamped white strip. Be sure to leave space between the images so they can be cut out with the dies.
Pick out the small matching flower die from the Painted Labels Dies. Put it on top of the small stamped flower image on the red stamped white strip on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the flower is centered. Run through the tool.
Pick out the large matching flower die from the Painted Labels Dies. Put it on top of the large stamped flower image on the red stamped white strip on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the flower is centered. Run through the tool.
Adhere the small flower cut out to the front of the card so it overlaps the upper right side of the matted sentiment circle.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the large flower cut out to the front of the card so it overlaps the bottom right side of the small flower cut out and the right side of the matted sentiment circle.
Tie a small bow in the center of the colored Faux Linen Ribbon. Trim the ends.
Tip: The ribbon can get a bit stiff because of being colored with the Stampin' Blends. To soften it up a bit so it is easier to tie in a bow, just crumple the ribbon in your hand a few times.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the bow to the front of the card so it overlaps the lower left side of the matted sentiment circle.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 3 rhinestones from a sheet of Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them randomly to the card front on the right side.
