G orgeous card with a stained glass look using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer vellum, and Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
For card:
- card from Rich Razzleberry Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Pool Party Cardstock
- 1-5/8" x 5-1/4" from Basic Black Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 5-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 6" of stained glass flower panel from Graceful Glass 6" x 6" Designer Vellum
For inside of card:
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic Black Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1" x 2" from Pool Party Cardstock
- 1" x 2" from Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets
Mount the "A Reason to Celebrate" sentiment from the Painted Glass Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Basic Black Archival Ink Pad. Stamp it on the right side of the Pool Party rectangle about 1-1/2" from the bottom.
Cut a 5" piece of Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Velvet Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the stamped Pool Party rectangle just below the sentiment . Flip the cardstock over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add more SNAIL to the back of the cardstock. Adhere it to the front of the Rich Razzleberry card.
Lay the strip of Graceful Glass Designer Vellum upside down on your work surface. Use the Stampin' Blends Markers to color in the flowers, leaves, stems, and sky in the center of the strip. I chose to leave the edges uncolored.
Use the Light and Dark Old Olive Markers on the leaves and stems.
Use the Dark Calypso Coral Marker on the flower centers and into the petals a bit.
Use the Light and Dark Rich Razzleberry Markers to color in the petals of the flowers blending into the coral color a bit.
Use the Dark Pool Party Marker to color the sky.
Use the Color Lifter Marker as needed to remove stray bits of color.
Lay the colored strip of designer vellum right side up on the strip of white cardstock. Carefully fold the top of the vellum over to the back of the white cardstock. Secure it in place with a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Put a couple of Mini Glue Dots on the back of the colored vellum where they will be hidden by the coloring. Adhere the vellum strip flat to the white strip.
Carefully fold the other end of the vellum strip to the back side of the white strip. Adhere in place with Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add more SNAIL to the back of the white cardstock. Adhere it to the center of the Basic Black Cardstock strip.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the matted stained glass strip to the left side of the card front so about 1/4" of Pool Party Cardstock shows on the left side.
Cut a 4" piece of Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Velvet Ribbon.
Slide one end of the ribbon piece under the ribbon already on the card front. Tie in place so it is centered under the sentiment using a half knot. Trim the ends.
Pick out the sentiment of choice from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Set. Ink it up with the Rich Razzleberry Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the large white rectangle.
Adhere the stamped white rectangle to the large Basic Black rectangle and then to the inside of the card.
Carefully peel up the protective backing on one side of the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet piece and adhere the adhesive sheet to one side of the small Pool Party piece. Leave the other protective backing piece in place.
Place the piece of cardstock on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot so that the adhesive side (with protective backing in place) is on the bottom (Pool Party facing up).
Pick out the "You" thinlit from the Celebrate You Thinlits. Place it on top of the cardstock on the Big Shot. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush to remove the pieces.
Peel the protective backing off of the "You" cut out. Adhere it just above the sentiment on the inside of the card.
