Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Cajun Craze Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Soft Suede Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 2-1/2" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 3-1/4" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 1" x 2" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
Make sure you have a piece of Grid Paper on your work surface to protect it from ink. Place the 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock on top of the Grid Paper.
Open the Early Espresso, Soft Suede, and Crumb Cake Ink Pads. One at a time, drag them randomly across the Crumb Cake rectangle vertically to make different streaks of brown color. Let some of the streaks go off the edges of the cardstock and let them overlap. Repeat until you have the look you want.
Rub the streaked Crumb Cake rectangle with a clean tissue or paper towel to remove any excess ink.
Pick out the open oval frame die from the Fabulous Frames Dies. Put it on top of the streaked vertical Crumb Cake rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the oval frame is vertical and is in the upper left corner. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces if needed.
Note: You are using the large streaked rectangle with an oval cut out of it for this project. Keep the oval frame cut out and center oval cut out for use on another project if you wish.
Insert the streaked Crumb Cake rectangle with the hole cut out of it into the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine. Leave the embossing folder out.
Insert the Early Espresso rectangle into the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Adhere the streaked, dry embossed Crumb Cake rectangle with the hole cut out of it to the center of the dry embossed Early Espresso rectangle.
Cut a 4-1/2" piece of the Early Espresso 1/4" Faux Suede Trim.
Lay the ribbon across the bottom of the matted cardstock rectangle so it is about 3/4" from the bottom edge. Fold the ends of the ribbon over and secure the ribbon in place on the back of the rectangle using strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the Early Espresso rectangle. Adhere it to the front of the Cajun Craze card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Nuts About Squirrels Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the large, outline, crawling squirrel image from the Nuts About Squirrels Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Early Espresso Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 2-1/4" x 2-1/2" Crumb Cake rectangle.
Mount the large, solid, crawling squirrel image from the Nuts About Squirrels Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Cajun Craze Ink Pad. Stamp it inside the previously stamped outline squirrel body. Try to line up the feet and ears of the image as best you can.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the squirrel image by hand.
Adhere the cut out squirrel image to the front of the card so the feet are tucked under the bottom of the oval cut out and the tail overlaps the left side of the oval cut out as shown.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Nuts About Squirrels Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Early Espresso Ink Pad. Stamp it on the horizontal 1-1/2" x 3-1/4" Crumb Cake strip near one end.
Unlock the Label Me Fancy Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment punch out to the front of the card so it overlaps the upper right side of the oval cut out as shown.
Mount the solid acorn bottom image from the Nuts About Squirrels Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Crumb Cake Ink Pad. Stamp it on the remaining small strip of Crumb Cake Cardstock two times remembering to re-ink the stamp each time. Leave a little room between the images and leave room at the top of the images to stamp the acorn tops.
Mount the solid acorn top image from the Nuts About Squirrels Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Soft Suede Ink Pad. Stamp it over the tops of the previously stamped acorn bottom images remembering to re-ink the stamp each time.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out both acorn images by hand.
Use small pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the backs of the acorn cut outs to adhere them to the front of the card so they overlap the ribbon on the right side and overlap each other a bit as well as shown.
