(B) Folio front/back (to cover ribbon and add more stiffness): 6” x 4 1/4” (two)
(D) Card Pocket: 8 3/8” x 5”
Folio Base:
Score 6 1/4” x 10 3/4” card stock at 4 3/4” and 6” (having the 10 3/4” edge along the top of your trimmer.
Round the corners if desired.
Emboss the 6” x 4 1/4” pieces with your preferred embossing folder (these will go on the outside front and back of the folio, and be used to cover the ribbon).
Round the appropriate edges for front and back placement if you rounded the corners on your folio.
In this example, because I wanted to match my cards made with the Tag Buffet Kit and Gold Cards and Envelopes, I just took one of the cards from the Gold Cards Kit and cut it in half to use for the front and back of the folio, instead of using the two cut pieces. I embossed the back piece only to keep the front consistent with the cards inside.
See below for the alternate folio made to match the cards made with the Wonder of The Season Card Pack where these pieces were embossed.
Add the 24" length of ribbon to the center of outside of folio. Adhere to the front and back of the folio, about 5" in the center. Attach one side, then fold the folio closed before you attach the other side so that the ribbon is long enough along the spine when the folio is closed. is not necessary to adhere the ribbon to the spine.
Add embossed front pieces to front and back of folio (or in my case the cut card pieces).
Decorate the outside of the folio as desired prior to adding the pockets to the inside.
Inside (right) card pocket:
8 3/8” x 5” - score at 2” along each edge.
Snip the score lines (on the long edge) from the edge of the paper to the score line.
Decorate the front of the pocket as desired prior to folding and adhering the pocket to the folio.
Fold up the edges and adhere to make a pocket. Folding the short edges to the inside on the front and to the outside on the back (so that the inside back of the pocket will show only the long piece once adhered.)
In the image, the left side (closest to the Stampin' Seal+) is the inside of the front, the right side is the part that will be adhered to the inside of the folio.
Using a strong adhesive, adhere the pocket to the inside right of the folio (I put mine up just a bit, maybe 1/8” centered along the bottom edge.
Add the two small side pocket stiffeners to the inside left and right of the pocket. This will keep it from bending too much. I find this step easier to use glue so you can move them into place.
Inside (left) pocket - good for storing stamps or to add a card with a note.
Score the 2 1/4” x 5” card stock along three edges at 1/4”. Snip out the two corners, along the score lines.
Fold the 1/4” edges over and adhere tear n tape to the outside of the folded edges. Snip off any tape that hangs over any edges. (If you have any 1/8" tape, it would work better here.)
Decorate the front of the pocket as desired.
Attach the pocket to the inside left of the folio and the spine stiffener piece to inside spine of folio.
Add your cards and stamps (it is a nice touch to include stamps so the recipient has everything they need to send out the cards) and you are done!
(I took one of the card stock pieces cut for the front/back covers that I did not use, since I used the gold card instead, and cut 1/2" off the bottom. I then stamped a sentiment and design on the top of the card. This is good to put inside the left pocket as a card to write on when gifting this to others.)
Here is another folio that I made to match the cards that I made using the Wonder of the Season Memories and More Card Pack.
And here is the folio that was my inspiration. I changed a few of the directions to make the folio a bit stronger from the original directions. Thank you to Dawn Bourgette for the great idea.
