P retty card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Berry Burst Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Petal Pink Cardstock
- 1" x 5-1/4" of multi-colored embroidery flowers and leaves design from Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/4" x 3" from Old Olive Cardstock
- 2" square from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-1/4" square from Whisper White Cardstock
Pick out the large, solid framelit with the needlepoint design on it from the Needlepoint Elements Framelits. Place the Petal Pink rectangle on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the needlepoint design framelit on top at an angle on the upper right corner. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Tip: This framelit does NOT cut. It just dry embosses a needlepoint design onto cardstock.
As you are ready to stamp using the Needle & Thread Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Needle & Thread Set on an appropriately sized block. Ink it up with the Berry Burst Ink Pad. Stamp the sentiment in the lower right corner of the dry embossed Petal Pink rectangle.
Tip: If you use one of the longer sentiments, make sure to leave room to adhere the strip of designer paper down the left side.
Adhere the strip of Needlepoint Nook Designer Paper to the left edge of the stamped and dry embossed Petal Pink rectangle.
Cut a 6" piece of the Old Olive 1/8" Sheer Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the Petal Pink/designer paper rectangle so it covers the seam between the cardstock and designer paper. Flip the rectangle over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add SNAIL to the back of the Petal Pink rectangle. Adhere it to the front of the Berry Burst card.
Mount the large set of leaves divided into two bunches image from the Needle & Thread Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Old Olive Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Old Olive rectangle.
Pick out the matching, open framelit from the Needlepoint Elements Framelits. Place the stamped Old Olive rectangle on the Cutting Pad on the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the matching, open framelit on top so it is centered over the stamped image. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Mount the large embroidered flower image from the Needle & Thread Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Petal Pink Ink Pad. BEFORE you stamp, rub a Sponge Dauber across the open Berry Burst Ink Pad to pick up some ink. Lightly rub the inky Sponge Dauber over the center of the inky stamp on the block. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink. Stamp it in the center of the larger white square.
Tip: I just clean my daubers when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Tip: If you are going to be making multiples of this card, be sure to clean this stamp using the Simply Shammy and/or Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub before inking it up again or you will get Berry Burst Ink on your Petal Pink Ink Pad.
Pick out the large, open, flower framelit from the Needlepoint Elements Framelits. Place the stamped large flower on the Cutting Pad on the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the flower framelit on top so it is centered over the flower image. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the large flower cut out to the center of the leaves cut out in the open space.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the leaves with flower to the front of the card at a slight angle so it overlaps the designer paper a bit about 1-3/4" from the top.
Mount the small embroidered flower image from the Needle & Thread Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Berry Burst Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the smaller white square.
Tip: If your ink pad is really juicy, you might get a better image if you use a Sponge Dauber to pick up ink from the pad and then pounce it onto the stamp to ink it up.
Pick out the small, open, flower framelit from the Needlepoint Elements Framelits. Place the stamped small flower on the Cutting Pad on the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the flower framelit on top so it is centered over the flower image. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Use a Mini Stampin' Dimensionals on the bottom of the small flower cut out to adhere it to the front of the card so it overlaps the big flower just a bit along the bottom and also overlaps the designer paper a bit.
