T his simple card uses the Masking Technique and a 6 x 6 piece of DSP cut in a unique way. You can get two of this card, as well at least one more card with the leftovers from the 6 x 6 piece.
Project Recipe
Cut Thick Basic White cardstock to 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 and score at 4-1/4. Fold and burnish on the score line with a bone folder.
Cut Basic White cardstock to 4-7/8 x 3-5/8 for card focal image.
Cut Sun Prints DSP to 6 x 6 and follow the cutting diagram to cut your pieces. You can get two of this same card from the DSP as well as more cards from the left over piece.
Cut the "L" shaped piece to 5-1/4 x 4
Cut two strips of Masking Paper 1 x 6
Adhere the "L" shaped piece to the card front leaving about a 1/8" border on all sides as shown in the sample.
Using grid paper, line up the Basic White piece and adhere two strips of Masking Paper about 1/2" from the left side, and the bottom side.
Use a Blending Brush to apply Starry Sky ink in a circular motion to the left and bottom area near the mask. (I wish I had gone a bit darker than my sample).
Peel the Masking Paper off and stamp the largest image in Night of Navy ink as shown in the sample. I did second generation stamping for the
same image in a smaller scale. Stamp a small portion of the same stamp on the bottom left hand corner of the envelope. Stamp your greeting, and any inside greeting if desired.
Adhere this piece to the card base, overlapping the DSP. Embellish as desired. I used the Frosted and Clear Epoxy dots, but Basic Pearls or Rhinestones would also be pretty.
Adhere the 1/8 strip of DSP inside the card near the bottom.
