C ASE'd from Belinda Neil. Sponged background Moon Lake.
Project Recipe
Start with a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.
Make a circle mask using Post-It notes. It is easier to take the post-it and stick on some scrap cardstock to punch out the circle (save that scrap that has the circle cut out!). Stick on the mask on your card front. Decide on where you want the sky to end and the lake begin and mask that area off.
Using So Saffron, sponge around the circle mask using a circular motion. Then begin sponging the sky using first Marina Mist, then Pacific Point and finally Night of Navy.
Turn your mask for the sky upside down and begin sponging the lake, leaving room at the bottom for your land. Start sponging from the outsides in (leaving some lighter areas in the center for the moon's reflection) using Lost Lagoon. Gradually darken the areas using Marine Mist and Night of Navy.
Tear some Post-It notes into jagged edges and place at the top of the lake. Sponge Crumb Cake and then Mossy Meadow to form the green hills in the background.
Using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, stamp the rowboat and tree stamp from Moon Lake.
Using Blendabilities color in the rowboat with the 3 shades of Crumb Cake. Color the tree trunk with Crumb Cake and the leaves using Old Olive. The ground is colored using Old Olive and the rocks with Crumb Cake. Use your color lifter to lighten areas of the rocks and boat.
Remove the circle mask and add your cut out circle over the moon and lightly sponge So Saffron over the circle, adding more at the base for shading.
Using your chalk pen, add stars to the sky and highlight the tops of the tree.
To add movement to the water, take your Lost Lagoon. Pacific Point and Night of Navy stamp pads and pull some color directly onto the image with the pad. Highlight with the chalk marker.
