H ave you ever looked at your stamps and thought, I wish this sheep was facing the other direction? I have, and the good new is that there is a way to make that happen. I used a retired stamp set to illustrate how to do this, but it can be done with any image you desire.
Project Recipe
Measurements of Materials
5 ½” x 8 ½” Early Espresso CS (Scored at 4 ¼”)
5 ¼” x 4” White CS (Cut 2)
5” x 3” On the Farm DSP
5” x 3” Balmy Blue CS
Scraps of White, Night of Navy, Real Red, and Early Espresso CS.
Cut and Score all pieces. Burnish well on score lines.
Mirror Stamping Technique
• Place a Silicone Craft Sheet on top of the foam pad in your Stamparatus.
• Place the Sheep stamp in the desired position.
• Using Momento Ink, stamp the sheep onto the silicone craft sheet. Reink and restamp if you want a darker outline.
• Drop the scrap white CS onto the image (be careful not to slide the CS) and stamp on the reverse side to press the image onto the CS. This also provides you an image to die cut.
• When you pick it up, you will have the mirror image of the sheep.
• Stamp another sheep so that you have one facing each direction.
• Die cut them out and mount to the front of the card.
Prepare Die Cuts
• Cut two pieces of fencing from the Early Espresso CS.
• Cut one balloon from the Real Red CS and one from the Night of Navy CS.
• Cut one cloud from the White CS.
Front of the card
• Attach the Balmy Blue CS to the top edge of the white CS.
• Determine how much grassy hills you want to see and trim accordingly. Adhere to the lower edge of the white CS.
• Attach the white CS to the front of the card base.
• Add the cloud, sheep, and balloons to the scene on the front of the card. You may wish to use dimensionals under the balloons.
• Use dimensionals to place the fencing in the foreground.
Inside card
• Stamp the sentiment, sheep, and grass onto the white CS. Adhere to the inside of the card base.
• Using colored pencils, color as desired.
