M
arch Paper Pumpkin kit was all I expected and more! Since the cards made just as instructions say are fabulous, it has been quite difficult to think of ways to change it!
Project Recipe
The large Flower and the vintage DSP are from the March 2018 Paper Pumpkin kit. This kit was the Paper Pumpkin 5 year anniversary kit and included a free gift of some really nice wood embellishments.
I used Fresh Fig cardstock to create my base 4-1/4 x 5-1/2
Layered a piece of Early Espresso 4-1/8 x 5-3/8
I trimmed down the DSP piece to 4 x 5-1/4 and attached to the Early Espresso.
Then added the ribbon/bow that came with the kit.
For the flowers, I used my Stampin Blends to highlight the focal flowers & leaves for some additional depth and color. I also used my dark Crumb Cake blends to outline around the focal flowers. When you do shadow around an image, it gives it more of a 3D effect.
I the added some Wink of Stella to the flowers. Although I used some of my old Crystal Effects (a discontinued 3D Crystal Laquer)) on my flowers & leaves, you can also use your Fine Tip Glue in the same manner and you will get the very same result.
While that was drying, I cut out my 'friend" greeting with the Lovely Words thinlits from a piece of scrap black cardstock. For just a small added touch, I colored the word with my Wink of Stella the applied versamark and clear emboss powder. I did do a second layer of clear embossing, but it is not really necessary.
When the flowers were dry, I adhered them to my vintage piece with dimensionals.
I then attached my "friend" greeting with some tiny pieces of mini dimensionals. This too, is not really necessary and just a bit difficult since the pieces have to be very small in order to not show.
The small colored pearls were added and were also included in the kit.
I always like to carry my card designs to the inside of my cards giving them a "finished" look. The flowers and the greetings were all included with the Paper Pumpkin kit.
