F un shaker Christmas card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, Window Sheets, and Foil Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Mint Macaron Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Pool Party Cardstock
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 3" square from Mint Macaron Cardstock
- 2-1/4" square from Window Sheets
- 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
- scrap of Silver Foil Sheets at least 1-1/4" wide
As you are ready to stamp using the Making Christmas Bright Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. To protect the mat from ink, put a piece of paper (Grid Paper works great) on top of the mat.
Mount the long string of small Christmas lights image from the Making Christmas Bright Set on Block I. Ink it up with the Mint Macaron Ink Pad. Stamp it across the top of the Pool Party rectangle so the ends of the string go off the edges. Re-ink the stamp and stamp it at a slight angle just below the center of the card so the ends go off the edges. Re-ink the stamp and stamp it at a sharper angle along the bottom of the card so the ends go off the edges.
Use the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to color in all the light bulbs on the stamped strings.
Adhere the stamped Pool Party rectangle to the front of the Mint Macaron card.
Pick out the circle framelits from the Layering Circles Framelits that cut out a 2-7/16" diameter circle and a 1-3/8" diameter circle. Place the circle framelits on top of the Mint Macaron square on a Cutting Pad on the platform on the Big Shot so the small circle is centered inside the big circle. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Keep the circle with a circle cut out of the middle. Throw away the rest of the cardstock pieces.
Mount the layered circle with teeny stars image from the Making Christmas Bright Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Mint Macaron Ink Pad. Stamp it repeatedly onto the open circle of Mint Macaron so that the entire circle is covered in the tiny lines. You will have to stamp off the edge of the open circle some times. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
Pick out the circle framelit from the Layering Circles Framelits that cuts out a 1-7/8" diameter circle. Place the circle framelit on top of the Window Sheet square on a Cutting Pad on the platform on the Big Shot. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Put small strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive around the back of the stamped Mint Macaron open circle near the edges of the circle in the middle. Remove the protective backings and adhere the Window Sheet circle to the back of the Mint Macaron wreath so it covers the hole in the center.
Place the large piece of Whisper White Cardstock on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the Blizzard Thinlit on top. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot several times. Use the Die Brush to remove the pieces.
Carefully peel up one long strip from a sheet of Foam Adhesive Sheets. Adhere the strip around the circle in the center of the wreath on the back side as close to the edge of the center circle as you can. Get as close as possible to the end of the strip before trimming off the excess. Try not to leave a gap in the foam circle or the glitter will leak out. Put the excess foam strip back on the sheet to use on a later project. Leave the protective backing on the foam strip on the back of the wreath for now.
Carefully wipe the edge of the Embossing Buddy around the inside edges of the foam strip circle. This will help keep the glitter and tiny snowflakes from sticking to the foam strip.
Place the opened card in front of you on your work surface. Put a large pinch of Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter and about 5 of the tiny snowflakes cut out with the Blizzard Thinlit in the center of the card front.
Peel the protective backing off the Foam Adhesive Sheets circle on the back of the wreath. Carefully adhere the wreath to the front of the card so the opening in the wreath is centered over the pile of glitter and tiny snowflakes.
Give your card a shake to see how well the shaker card works and because it is fun!
Adhere three of the medium sized snowflakes cut out using the Blizzard Thinlit to the front of the card using Mini Glue Dots in the centers. Put one in the upper right corner and two slightly overlapping in the lower left corner.
Tip: Keep any unused snowflakes cut out with the Blizzard Thinlit to use on future projects.
Carefully peel up two large and one medium rhinestone from a sheet of Clear Rhinestone Basic Jewels making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the centers of the snowflakes.
Mount the "merry" bulb image from the Making Christmas Bright Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Pool Party Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the remaining small strip of white cardstock with the strip horizontal.
Mount the "bright" bulb image from the Making Christmas Bright Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Pool Party Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the small strip of white cardstock with the strip horizontal. Leave room between each bulb so you can punch them out.
Mount the "and" bulb image from the Making Christmas Bright Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Mint Macaron Ink Pad. Stamp it on the other end of the small strip of white cardstock with the strip horizontal. Leave room between each bulb so you can punch them out.
Unlock the Christmas Bulb Builder Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide a stamped bulb into the punch and get it centered in the matching punching area. Punch. Repeat until you have punched out all three bulb images. Leave the punch unlocked.
Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the Silver Foil Sheets piece into the punch so you can see the silver through the bulb base punching area. Punch. Repeat until you have punched out three bulb bases.
Use Mini Glue Dots to adhere the silver bulb bases to the punched out bulbs.
Put a Mini Stampin' Dimensional on the back of the "merry" bulb, remove the protective backing. Adhere another Mini Stampin' Dimensional on top of the first dimensional so it is two thick. Remove the protective backing. Adhere the bulb to the bottom of the wreath image just to the right of center so the bulb is hanging down at a slight angle and you can read the word.
Put a Mini Stampin' Dimensional on the back of the "and" bulb, remove the protective backing. Adhere another Mini Stampin' Dimensional on top of the first dimensional so it is two thick. Remove the protective backing. Adhere the bulb to the bottom of the wreath image so it overlaps the "merry" bulb a bit on the right side and the bulb is hanging down at a slight angle and you can read the word.
Put a Mini Stampin' Dimensional on the back of the "bright" bulb, remove the protective backing. Adhere another Mini Stampin' Dimensional on top of the first dimensional so it is two thick. Remove the protective backing. Adhere the bulb to the bottom of the wreath image so it overlaps the "and" bulb a bit on the right side and the bulb is hanging down at a slight angle and you can read the word.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of Silver 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon. Tie a half knot in the center. Trim the ends. Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the card front so it is centered on the bulb bases.
