P layful Christmas card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Old Olive Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Crushed Curry Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 5-1/4" from Old Olive Cardstock
- 2-3/4" x 3-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 2-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 3/4" x 2-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1" x 2-1/2" from Old Olive Cardstock
Insert the 1-3/4" x 5-1/4" strip of Old Olive Cardstock into the Swirls & Curls Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the paper inside on your die cutting and embossing tool and run through the machine.
Adhere the dry embossed strip of Old Olive Cardstock to the 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" Whisper White rectangle so it is about 1" from the top. Trim off excess Old Olive Cardstock on the sides using Paper Snips.
Adhere the white rectangle to the Crushed Curry rectangle and then to the front of the Old Olive card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Making Christmas Bright Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the string circle with teeny stars image from the Making Christmas Bright Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Crushed Curry Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the 2-3/4" x 3-1/4" white strip leaving room to punch it out.
Unlock the 2-1/4" Circle Punch. Hold it upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the stamped circle image into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Mount the "bright" bulb image from the Making Christmas Bright Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Crushed Curry Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the 1-1/4" x 2-1/4" strip of white cardstock with the strip horizontal.
Unlock the Christmas Bulb Builder Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped bulb into the punch and get it centered in the matching punching area. Punch. Leave the punch unlocked.
Mount the bulb cap image from the Making Christmas Bright Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Old Olive Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the 3/4" x 2-1/4" strip of white cardstock.
Holding the Christmas Bulb Builder punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped bulb cap image into the punch and get it centered in the corresponding punching area. Punch.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the bulb cap punch out to the end of the "bright" bulb punch out.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the bulb punch out on the circle punch out at a slight angle so the top of the bulb cap is even with the top of the circle on the upper right side.
Mount the rays of light image from the Making Christmas Bright Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Crushed Curry Ink Pad. Stamp it just below the tip of the bulb image on the white circle.
Adhere the stamped circle punch out to the card front so it overlaps the right side of the dry embossed Old Olive strip and the rays of light are on the right side.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the bulb punch out to the card front so the tip of the bulb is just above the rays of light stamped on the circle punch out.
Rub the Embossing Buddy all over the small strip of Old Olive Cardstock.
Mount the "making spirits bright" sentiment from the Making Christmas Bright Set on Block G. Carefully ink up ONLY the words "making spirits" by pressing the stamp to the VersaMark Pad. Stamp on the small strip of Old Olive Cardstock.
Lay the stamped sentiment on top of some Grid Paper in the center. Sprinkle on some Shimmer White Stampin' Emboss Powder so it covers the stamped sentiment. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
Tip: I use a fine-tip paintbrush to knock off any excess powder that is stuck anywhere I don't want it.
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool until it is completely melted (shiny and more opaque white).
Tip: Use a clothespin to hold the cardstock while using the Heat Tool to avoid burning your fingers.
Use Paper Snips to cut out the sentiment leaving a bit of cardstock past the word "spirits" on the right side.
Adhere the cut out sentiment to the card front so the right end sticks under the bulb punch out and it is in line with the word "bright" on the bulb punch out.
Cut a 3" piece of Crushed Curry 3/8" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the front of the card so it is on top of the bulb punch out.
