W hen I can't quite decide what stamp set will work, I always look my "go to" stamp set - Lovely As A Tree! And, usually, it will work for what I have in mind so here is a simple, yet charming, birthday card for a special person.
Project Recipe
The card base is Early Espresso Cardstock cut at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2” and folded in 1/2 to create standard card size of 5-1/2" x 4-1/4".
Cut Smoky Slate Cardstock at 5-1/4" x 4", use Early Espresso Classic Ink to stamp the Hardwood image.
Tip: Ink the block by having the image side up and tapping the ink on the image. Place the cardstock over the image and burnish with your fingers, a rubber brayer or a closed ink pad.
Cut a length of Natural Trim to fit around the Smoky Slate Cardstock. Attach both ends to the back with Mini Glue Dots. Attach completed layer to the card base with Snail Adhesive.
For the layer of trees, cut Early Espresso Cardstock 4" x 2-3/4" and cut Very Vanilla Cardstock4" x 2-1/2".
Use Early Espresso Classic Ink to stamp the trees and Always Artichoke Classic Ink and Sponge Dauber to create a coloured ground area. Use Snail Adhesive to attach these layers to each other and over the Smoky Slate layer.
Stamp the greeting from the Sunburst Sayings Stamp Set with Early Espresso Classic Ink on Very Vanilla Cardstock.
Use the Stitched Framelits with the Big Shot and the Big Shot Magnetic Platform to cut out the greeting.
Use the next size of Stitched Framelits with the Big Shot and the Big Shot Magnetic Platform to cut out a layer of Early Espresso Cardstock.
Use Snail Adhesive to attach the Very Vanilla layer to the Early Espresso layer.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to attach this layer over the ribbon.
