Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Basic White Thick Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Night Of Navy Cardstock
- 2" x 4" from Basic Gray Cardstock
- 2" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2" x 5-1/4" from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock
- 1" x 1-1/2" from gold Brushed Metallic 12" x 12" Cardstock
- 1" x 2" from So Saffron Cardstock
- 1/2" x 3/4" from So Saffron Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 4" from Basic White Cardstock
Insert the Night Of Navy rectangle into the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder so the brick pattern runs horizontally across the vertical cardstock. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
If needed, ink up the un-inked Craft Ink Pad using the White Craft Ink Refill that comes with the pad. Or, add additional craft ink refill to the pad if you have used it before as the ink does tend to dry out.
Put the dry embossed Night Of Navy rectangle on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Rub a Blending Brush across the open White Craft Ink Pad to get it inky. Rub the inky Blending Brush lightly all over the dry embossed Night Of Navy rectangle to add some "whitewash" to the bricks. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.
Tip: I just clean my Blending Brushes when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Use your fingers to tear the 2" x 4" piece of Basic Gray Cardstock in half longways.
Adhere the torn strip of Basic Gray Cardstock to the bottom of the vertical, dry embossed and "whitewashed" Night Of Navy rectangle so the flat left, bottom, and right edges are even.
Adhere the Night Of Navy rectangle with Basic Gray attached to the front of the Basic White Thick card.
Pick out the larger, solid lighthouse die from the Lighthouse Dies. Put it on top of the 2" x 5-1/4" white rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Pick out the large, striped lighthouse die from the Lighthouse Dies. Put it on top of the 2" x 5-1/4" Cherry Cobbler rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed.
Note: The two bottom super-skinny, horizontal lines at the top of the lighthouse do NOT come out!
Adhere the 1/2" x 3/4" piece of So Saffron Cardstock to the top of the solid, white lighthouse cut out where it will shine through the three vertical rectangles cut into the top of the detailed lighthouse cut out.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the striped Cherry Cobbler lighthouse cut out over the top of the solid, white lighthouse cut out with the So Saffron strip attached.
Pick out the small, detailed lighthouse top die from the Lighthouse Dies. Put it on top of the small gold rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed.
Note: The two bottom super-skinny, horizontal lines at the top of the lighthouse top do NOT come out!
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the gold lighthouse top cut out to the top of the layered white/cherry cobbler lighthouse.
Adhere the completed lighthouse cut out to the front of the card on the left side as shown.
Pick out the ray of light die from the Lighthouse Dies. Put it on top of the 1" x 2" So Saffron rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Adhere the ray of light cut out to the front of the card so it appears to be coming out to the right side of the top of the lighthouse as shown.
As you are ready to stamp using the Lighthouse Point Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Pick out the sentiment of choice from the Lighthouse Point Set. Ink it up with the Night Of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the remaining 1-1/2" x 4" white strip.
Pick out the appropriate pointed end label die from the Lighthouse Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the sentiment. Run through the machine.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment to the front of the card as shown.
