T riple layer technique using Little Ladybug stamp set.
Project Recipe
Dimensions for cutting your card stock:
Basic Black:
Card Base is 8.5” X 5.5” scored and folded at 4.25”. Mats are 4.5” X 3.25” and 3.5” X 2.25”.
Whisper White (for stamping):
5.25” X 4”, 4.25” X 3”, and 3.25” X 2”. Inside layer is 5 3/8” X 4 1/8”. A scrap for sentiment.
Layer the 3 white pieces, using a low tack tape to keep them together. I used SNAIL adhesive but ‘destickified’ it using my sweater sleeve. You want to be able to separate the white layers so you can place on the mats, but you also need them to stay together while you stamp.
Stamping:
Layers - be sure to press down firmly as you stamp, you want the images to overlap the layers. I made the flower my focal point then stamped ladybugs around the remainder of the card, using several of the ladybugs and changed their directions.
In the scrap of Whisper White card stock stamp the sentiment; on the inside layer stamp your sentiment (I chose one from the Well Said stamp set) and stamped a flower in the lower corner.
Envelope: I put a flower on the front corner and stamped ladybugs on the flap.
Separate your white layers carefully, if a bit is roughed up in the middle, don’t worry; you are going to cover it.
Time to color!
I chose Daffodil Delight for the flower, using blends I colored the centers with the darker shade and then went over it all with the lighter shade. Leaves are Mossy Meadow.
Lady Bugs are colored using a red - either Real Red or Poppy Parade is nice, for the wings, bodies are Gray Granite Blends, face is Petal Pink.
Don’t forget to color the inside piece.
Adhere your inside piece, then adhere the colored layers to the black mat. I chose not to use dimensionals for this, but you may want them raised. Adhere to card base.
I cut the sentiment out with the new scallop die from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. I adhered toward the bottom of the card.
Bling - it needs BLING!
I used the Champagne Rhinestone Gems and liberally applied Wink of Stella to the flower inside and on the front.
