T his is a tutorial for this cute spring 4" Designer Series Paper card (CASED form Ronda Wade) with the Pretty Kitty stamp set and the Share What You Love DSP made especially for my Newsletter subscribers.
Project Recipe
cut down a piece of 12' by 12" Share What You Love DSP to 4".
Score the 4" by 12" DSP long ways - at 41/4" and 9 1/2" (make sure when scoring that the flower pattern is going in the direction you want).
Fold the DSP on the score lines. Then fold back a piece about 1" - 1 1/8" on the top piece so that the top and bottom piece barely overlap and showing off the reverse side of the DSP.
Cut down a piece of So Saffron cardstock so you have two pieces of 4 1/4" by 5 1/2". One piece for the card base and one to save for later to cut a scalloped circle. Adhere the So Saffron card base piece to the back of the DSP.
Cut two pieces of Mint Macaron cardstock to 1" by 4" to layer on the DSP. Also cut two pieces of the 5/8" Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle ribbon to wrap around the Mint Macaron pieces (about 4 1/2 ") and secure the ribbon to the back with adhesive.
Then adhere the Mint Macraron/ribbon to the DSP - on the bottom flush with it's top edge. I then close the flap to see how much of the Mint Macraron/ribbon is showing and then when I adhere down the second piece I try to match the Mint Macaron pieces- so that about the same is visible when the card is closed. Then I add adhesive to the back of folded over top piece and the Mint Macraron pieces and adhere them down to the card.
Then on a piece of Whisper White stamp the kitty image from the Pretty Kitty stamp set and color it with the Stampin' Blends.
Then cut out the kitty image with the Layering Circle framelits ( 4th biggest circle 2 1/8"). Then cut out a So Saffron scallop piece with the Layering Circle framelits (4th biggest scallop 2 1/4"). Then cut a Mint Macraron scallop piece with the Layering Circle framelits (3rd biggest scallops 2 1/2").
Then layer the Mint Macraron scallop on the card base. Only add adhesive to the top half of the scallop as the bottom third should hang over the bottom piece. I try to center it so that even though only the top half is adhered down the scallop looks centered in the middle of the card.
Then with the Leaf punch - punch three leaves out of a piece of Vellum cardstock.
Add adhesive to the back of the kitty image and adhere two of the vellum leaves. Then add more adhesive to the top of the vellum so that you can layer it on the So Saffron scallop piece. Then on the back of the So Saffron add adhesive where you want to adhere the last vellum leaf piece (I made an off center triangle pattern).
Then add Stampin' Dimensionals to the back of the So Saffron scallop piece and then adhere it to the Mint Macraron scallop piece.
Cut a piece of Whisper White to 3 3/4" by 5" for the inside piece. Then take the small five flower stamp from the Love What You Do stamp set and stamp in So Saffron on the bottom right hand corner - I stamped it three times. Then colored it in with the Light Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends.
Then adhere the Whisper White piece to the inside of the card.
For the finial step I add Wink of Stella to the pink dots on the front of the DSP and to the kitty's bow, butterfly, and the little round Rich Razzleberry flowers. I also add Wink of Stella to the flowers on the inside Whisper White piece.
I always add something to the back of my cards. On this card I stamped the same flowers from the inside of the card on the back of the So Saffron piece to finish the card.
