Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- 2" x 3-3/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 3-1/2" of small red plaid design from Gingham Cottage 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 3/4" x 1-3/4" of small red plaid design from Gingham Cottage 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 1" x 2-1/2" from Shaded Spruce Cardstock
- 1" x 1-3/4" from Real Red Cardstock
Mount the standing male gnome image from the Kindest Gnomes Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the vertical white rectangle slightly closer to the top.
Pick out the straight-edged top die from the Tailor Made Tags Dies that cuts out a tag that is 3-5/16" long. Put it on top of the stamped gnome image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image with the hole just above the gnome's hat. Run through the machine. Leave the die out.
Tip: It is often better to cut images out with dies before spending all the time to color them in. That way if the dies slip during the cutting process, you haven't wasted a lot of time on the coloring.
Put the straight-edged top tag die on top of the large Gingham Cottage Designer Paper strip on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Leave the die out.
Put the straight-edged top tag die on top of the small Gingham Cottage Designer Paper piece on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so you'll cut out the bottom of the tag. Run through the machine.
Place the gnome tag cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light and Dark Shaded Spruce Stampin' Blends to color in the gnome's shirt sleeves and pants.
Use the Light and Dark Real Red Stampin' Blends to color in the gnome's pockets, mittens, and hat.
Use the Light and Dark Soft Suede Stampin' Blends to color in the gnome's shoes.
Use the Light Natural Tones Stampin' Blends to color the gnome's nose and mouth.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends as needed to remove excess color.
Use a ruler and the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to add lines of black to the two designer paper tag piece cut outs.
Adhere the small bottom of the tag designer paper piece cut out to the bottom of the colored gnome tag cut out.
Adhere the colored and layered gnome tag cut out to the top of the designer paper tag cut out at a slight angle. Just make sure the holes in the top line up.
Mount the "warm wishes" sentiment from the Kindest Gnomes Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Shaded Spruce strip.
Pick out the sharply pointed ends label die from the Cracker & Treat Box Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the sentiment. Run through the machine.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment label cut out to the top of the gnome tag so it covers the seam between the cardstock and designer paper and sticks out on either side a bit.
Pick out the set of three little hearts die from the Cracker & Treat Box Dies. Put it on top of the small strip of Real Red cardstock on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the hearts to the front of the tag as shown.
Cut a piece of the Black & White 1/4" Gingham Ribbon long enough to wrap around the item you are adding the tag to and be able to tie it in place.
Place the ribbon on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Use the brush tip of the Dark Real Red Stampin' Blends to color the ribbon.
Tie the altered ribbon around the item and slide the tag on before tying it in place with a knot. Trim the ends.
