Project Recipe
For the card:
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 2" x 4" from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock
- 1" x 4-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1" x 2-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1/2" x 4-1/4" from Night Of Navy Cardstock
- 1/2" x 2-1/4" from Night Of Navy Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 3" from Pool Party Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 2-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1" x 3-1/4" from Garden Green Cardstock
- 1" x 2-3/4" from Pool Party Cardstock
- 1" square from Pool Party Cardstock
Insert the Crumb Cake rectangle into the embossing folder included with the Tree Rings Hybrid Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Rub a Sponge Dauber across the open Crumb Cake Ink Pad to get it inky. Lightly rub color onto the raised, dry embossed tree rings. Get more ink on the Sponge Dauber as needed.
Tip: I just clean my Sponge Daubers when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Adhere the 1" x 4-1/4" white strip across the center of the horizontal Cherry Cobbler strip. Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off excess white cardstock on the left and right edges.
Adhere the 1" x 2-1/4" white strip across the left end of the horizontal Cherry Cobbler strip so it is about 3/8" from the left edge. Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off excess white cardstock on the top and bottom edges.
Adhere the thin Night Of Navy strips across the centers of the white strips. Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off excess Night Of Navy cardstock on the edges.
Adhere the Cherry Cobbler strip with white and Night Of Navy strips attached to the dry embossed and sponged Crumb Cake rectangle so it is about 1" from the top and the left and right edges are even.
Adhere the Crumb Cake rectangle to the front of the Cherry Cobbler card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Ringed With Nature Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the set of three mushroom stems image from the Ringed With Nature Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Crumb Cake Ink Pad. Stamp it on the left side of the horizontal 2-1/2" x 3" Pool Party rectangle so the bottoms of the stems are about 1/2" from the bottom of the cardstock and the left edge is about 1/2" from the left edge of the cardstock.
Mount the set of three mushroom tops image from the Ringed With Nature Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad. Stamp it on the Pool Party rectangle so the mushroom tops overlap the tops of the mushroom stems. Leave the stamp on the block.
Re-ink the set of three mushroom tops image on Block B using the Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad so you mainly ink up the shorter, fatter mushroom top on the right side. Stamp it on the small Pool Party square.
Mount the long, skinny leaf stems with two flowers image from the Ringed With Nature Set on Block G. Use the brush tips of the Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Write Markers to ink up the image. Breathe on the image to moisten the ink. Stamp the image on the right side of the horizontal 2-1/2" x 3" Pool Party rectangle so the bottom of the stem is about 1/2" from the bottom of the cardstock and the right side of the flowers is about 1/4" from the right side of the cardstock.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut a fringe along one long edge of the Garden Green strip. Be sure to leave at least 1/4" of cardstock uncut along the other long edge. Use the Snips to trim the top of the frayed edge.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the fringed Garden Green strip to the bottom of the stamped Pool Party rectangle so it covers the bottoms of the mushroom and leaf stems.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off excess green cardstock on the left, right, and bottom edges as needed.
Adhere the stamped Pool Party rectangle with green fringe attached to the front of the card so it is centered over the Cherry Cobbler strip and is about 1/4" from the right edge.
Mount the gnome with lantern image from the Kindest Gnomes Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the small Basic White rectangle.
Pick out the matching gnome die from the Gnomes Dies. Put it on top of the stamped gnome image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Tip: It is often better to cut images out with dies before spending all the time to color them in. That way if the dies slip during the cutting process, you haven't wasted a lot of time on the coloring.
Place the gnome cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the ruler and Dark Night Of Navy Stampin' Blends to color a couple of crossing lines on the gnome's hat as shown.
Use the ruler and Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends to color the four quadrants on the gnome's hat as shown. Try to leave a thin strip of white between the Cherry Cobbler and Night Of Navy areas.
Use the Light and Dark Night Of Navy Stampin' Blends to color in the gnome's shirt sleeves.
Use the Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends to color in the gnome's pants.
Use the Light and Dark Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends to color in the gnome's shoes.
Use the Light and Dark Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends to color in the frame of the lantern.
Use the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends to color in the light in the center of the gnome's lantern.
Use the Medium Light (SU700) Natural Tones Stampin' Blends to add shadows to the gnome's nose and hands.
Use the Medium Light (SU800) Natural Tones Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the gnome's nose and hands.
Use the Dark Pool Party Stampin' Blends to color the white outlining the gnome cut out.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends as needed to remove excess color.
Adhere the colored gnome cut out to the front of the card so his feet are tucked into the grass and he is centered between the mushrooms and flower stem as shown.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the one mushroom top stamped on the Pool Party square.
Use a Mini Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the mushroom top over the top of that mushroom on the card front so it overlaps the gnome a bit.
Unlock the Banners Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the Pool Party strip into the left side of the punch (the side of the punch with the outward notch) as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch. Repeat on the other end.
Mount the "warm wishes" sentiment from the Kindest Gnomes Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the punched Pool Party strip.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the stamped sentiment strip to the front of the card so it is centered over the bottom of the main image rectangle as shown.
For the box:
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- 5" square from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock
- 1/2" x 7" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1/4" x 7" from Night Of Navy Cardstock
- 1" x 3-1/4" from Night Of Navy Cardstock
Pick out the box die from the Design A Treat Box Dies. Put it on top of the Cherry Cobbler square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Use the Bone Folder to fold on all score lines.
Use small pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the thin tabs on the sides of the top and bottom rectangles to adhere the sides together and form the box bottom.
Fill the box with treats - candy, coins, jewelry, etc.
Fold down the tops of the box with the curves on top and bring the two curves together in the center so they are touching and pointing up.
One at a time, slide the slits in the other points over the curves and lock in place.
Tip: If desired, use a Mini Glue Dot under the top flap to help hold the box closed.
Pick out both of the bow top dies from the Design A Treat Box Dies. Put them on top of the Night Of Navy strip on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Use your fingers to squish a Mini Glue Dot as small as you can. Stick the center of one of the bow cut out bottoms to the squished up glue dot. Use it to attach it to the top flap on one side of the curved handle on the box top. Repeat with the other bow cut out on the other side.
