S ummer green card perfect for lots of occasions using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Granny Apple Green Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Shaded Spruce Cardstock
- 2" x 2-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 3-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 3' from Granny Apple Green Cardstock
Place the Stitched Greenery Die cutting side up on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Place the Shaded Spruce rectangle on top of the die. Run through the machine.
Note: This die doesn't cut anything out. Instead it creates a dotted design of leaves on your cardstock.
Tip: Because the die is so big, I found it easier to put the die on the platform face up and then put the cardstock on top of it so I could make sure the cardstock was straight and properly positioned.
Pick out the circle die that cuts out a 1-11/16" circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies. Put it on top of the Shaded Spruce rectangle with stitched leaves cut into it on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the circle is in the lower right corner about 1/2" from the bottom and about 3/8" from the right edge. Run through the machine.
Adhere the Shaded Spruce rectangle with a circle and stitched leaves cut into it onto the front of the Granny Apple Green card. Don't put adhesive too close to the edges of the circle as you want to be able to tuck the gnome into the circle in a later step.
Mount the sitting gnome image from the Kindest Gnomes Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the larger Basic White rectangle.
Pick out the matching gnome die from the Gnomes Dies. Put it on top of the stamped gnome image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Tip: It is often better to cut images out with dies before spending all the time to color them in. That way if the dies slip during the cutting process, you haven't wasted a lot of time on the coloring.
Place the gnome cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light and Dark Shaded Spruce Stampin' Blends and Light and Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends to color in the gnome's hat.
Use the Light and Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends to color in the gnome's shirt sleeves.
Use the Light and Dark Shaded Spruce Stampin' Blends to color in the gnome's pants.
Use the Light and Dark Petal Pink Stampin' Blends to color in the gnome's face, nose, mouth, and hands.
Use the Light and Dark Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends to color in the gnome's shoes
Use the fine tip of the Light Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends to lightly outline the streaks in the gnome's beard. Leave the rest of the beard white.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends as needed to remove excess color.
Adhere the colored gnome cut out to the front of the card so he is tucked into the circle cut out and slightly to the right side.
Mount the "let's celebrate everything" sentiment from the Eden's Garden Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Granny Apple Green Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white strip.
Pick out the 3/4" x 2-7/8" banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the sentiment is centered in the die top to bottom and closer to the left edge. Run through the machine.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off the right side of the banner cut out about 1/2" from the right end of the sentiment.
Adhere the cut down sentiment banner cut out to the front of the card so the notched ends on the left almost touch the left edge of the Shaded Spruce layer and the bottom of the cut out is about 3/4" from the bottom of the card.
Pick out the spiky grass die from the Gnomes Dies. Put it on top of the Granny Apple Green strip on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine on one end leaving room to cut out another piece. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces. Repeat on the other end of the Granny Apple Green strip.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere one spiky grass cut out to the front of the card so it is flipped over and covers the left end of the sentiment banner cut out and the bottom is just below the bottom of the sentiment banner cut out.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the other spiky grass cut out to the front of the card so the bottoms are even and it overlaps the other spiky grass cut out and the left edge of the gnome as shown.
Cut a 3" piece of the White 1/4" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the front of the card as shown so it is centered over the bottoms of the spiky grass cut outs where they overlap.
