I’ve seen several variations of this online, and really wanted to try it for myself. Of course I put my own little spin to it! I hope you like this lovely little card!
Project Recipe
To make this card I used the Painted Harvest stamp set from the 2017 holiday catalog. This has to be one of my favorite stamp sets ever! It is so gorgeous & versatile I plan to feature it again in future blog posts, as it is a set that will be carried over into next year.
As always, I like to start by prepping what I need before I get working on the card. You’ll need Garden Green card stock cut to 4 1/4” x 11“. Score this at 5 1/2” and fold.
Now cut a piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock to 3 7/8“ x 5 1/8“
Pick a white piece of the Merry Music designer series paper, and trim it to 3 1/2“ x 4 3/4”. You will also need about a 6 inch piece of gold ribbon to make a bow.
Now cut out the letters J, and Y out of Cherry Cobbler card stock using the Large Letter framelets.
For creating the wreath, I used the two flower stamps from the Painted Harvest stamp set, Pear Pizzazz and Garden Green ink. I also used Cherry Cobbler ink with the five little dots stamp to create berries on the wreath.
Take the larger of the two flower stamps and use Pear Pizzazz ink to stamp in the center of the Merry Music DSP piece you cut out earlier. Then using the smaller flower stamp and Garden Green ink, stamp directly on top of the first flower image.
There is no wrong way to stamp this, just keep them both basically centered and it will come out beautifully.
Using the same two stamps and colors, stamp around the edges to make a border.
Now using the Cherry Cobbler ink, and that small stamp that has five dots on it, add berries on the wreath and along the border randomly.
Now take the Cherry Cobbler piece, and the Mary music DSP you just stamped, and center them on the Garden Green card base.
I prefer to use Fast Fuse adhesive for this.
Place your letters J & Y on either side of your stamped wreath, and glue them down. Then make a small bow and adhere it to the bottom of the wreath.
Stamp the sentiment of your choice on the inside.
And there you have it, a finished beautiful Christmas card! Try this using different colors and card stocks and see what you can create to make it your own!
