J ar of Love and Everyday Jars framelits make beautiful shaker jars
Project Recipe
Cardbase: Rich Razzleberry cardstock
Layer 1: Sweet Sugarplum cardstock
Layer 2: Very Vanilla cardstock
Shaker layer: Very Vanilla cardstock
Cut out the cardstock with the following measurements:
Cardbase: 8.5" x 5.5" (score at 4 1/4")
Layer 1: 5 1/4" x 4", plus a small scrap piece
Layer 2: 5" x 3 3/4", emboss this with woodgrain
Jar layer: 2" x 3.5", plus a small scrap piece
Window sheet= 2" x 3.5"
Glue Layer 1 onto the card base.
After embossing Layer 2, glue it onto Layer 1
Take the jar layer, stamp the jar image on it.
Use the "inside of jar" die to cut out the inside of the stamped jar image.
Using Rich Razzleberry ink, stamp the jar lid image onto a piece of Sweet Sugarplum scrap paper.
Die cut the jar lid out.
Glue the jar lid onto the stamped jar image.
Glue the window sheet behind the stamped jar image.
Using foam strips, place them behind the window sheet, to form the shaker portion of the card.
Making the inside shaker hearts:
Using the strip of hearts die-cut, cut out one row of Rich Razzleberry scrap and one row of Sweet Sugarplum scrap of hearts each.
*TIP: I save silica gel packets from new shoes or handbags! I use the inside of these packets for my shaker cards!
On the embossed layer of the card, make a very small yet somewhat flat 'pile' of the hearts, add some sequins or glitter, anything you want to use inside the jar.
You do not need a lot to make an effective shaker card. Too much inside and the card won't 'shake'.
Remove the foam strips backing, and assemble it over the shaker ingredients, making sure to adhere the foam strips securely onto the card.
Punch out two banners from the Duet Banner punch. For this card, I did one in Very Vanilla and another in Sweet Sugarplum cardstock.
Stamp a sentiment onto the Very Vanilla cardstock banner piece.
Glue the banner pieces together, then adhere to the card.
Make a bow from baker's twine and adhere to the card.
(Optional) For the inside of the card, cut out a sheet of Very Vanilla cardstock (5 1/4" x 4") and stamp a sentiment on it.
I used Special Celebrations for the inside.
This card was inspired by the following idea from: https://inkbigacademystamps.com/2016/08/stampinup-jar-love-shaker-card.html
