Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a cutting and scoring tool:
- card from Calypso Coral Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 4" of ribbons and buttons on white design from Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper, cut so the ribbons are horizontal across the horizontal paper
- 2" x 2-3/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 3/4" x 1-1/4" from Crushed Curry Cardstock
- scrap of Calypso Coral Cardstock at least 3-1/2" long
- scrap of Pool Party Cardstock at least 3/4" wide
Insert the large white rectangle into the Button Button Embossing Folder. Use the line drawn on the front flap of the folder to help you line the cardstock up straight. Run the folder with the paper inside through your die cutting and embossing tool.
Adhere the piece of Follow Your Art Designer Paper to the dry embossed white rectangle about 1” from the top.
Tear off a piece of the stitched pattern washi tape from the Follow Your Art Washi Tape about 3-3/4” long so the left edge is torn at a sharp upward angle. Adhere it to the dry embossed white rectangle just below the designer paper so the right edge wraps around the right side to the back and the torn left edge is about ¾” from the left side.
Tear off a piece of yellow stripes pattern washi tape from the Follow Your Art Washi Tape about 3-3/4” long so the left edge is torn at a sharp upward angle. Adhere it to the dry embossed white rectangle so it overlaps the bottom of the designer paper and the top of the previous washi tape strip and the right edge wraps around the right side to the back and the torn left edge is even with the torn left edge of the previous washi tape strip.
Pick out the paper clip die from the Arts & Crafts Dies. Put the paper clip die on top of the Crushed Curry rectangle on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool a couple of times. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and/or paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Slide the paper clip cut out onto the lower left side of the dry embossed white rectangle.
Adhere the dry embossed white rectangle to the front of the Calypso Coral card.
Mount the spools of ribbon image from the It Starts With Art Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the small white rectangle.
Pick out the spools of ribbon die from the Arts & Crafts Dies. Put it on top of the stamped spools of ribbon image on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the image is centered. Run through the tool.
Put the spools of ribbon cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Start coloring the image with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas. Use the dark colors first and then the light colors to blend the colors and color in the spaces. Work on one area at a time so the inks will be wet and will blend easier.
Use the Light Calypso Coral and Light Pumpkin Pie Markers to color in the ribbon on the top spool and the ribbon heart it creates.
Use the Light and Dark Daffodil Delight Markers to color in the ribbon on the center spool.
Use the Dark Pool Party Marker to color in the ribbon on the bottom spool.
Use the Light Smoky Slate Marker to color in the cardboard spools.
Use the Color Lifter Marker as needed to remove excess ink.
Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the colored spools of ribbon cut out to the front of the card in the upper left corner so it overlaps the top of the designer paper.
Mount the “follow your art” sentiment from the It Starts With Art Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it on the scrap of Calypso Coral Cardstock.
Unlock the Classic Label Punch. Hold it upside down so you can see the punching area. Get the sentiment centered in the punching area. Punch.
Adhere the sentiment punch out to the card front so it is centered over the strips of washi tape. Leave room to the right for the button cut out.
Pick out the small, flower-shaped button die from the Arts & Crafts Dies. Put the flower-shaped button die on top of the scrap of Pool Party Cardstiock on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and/or paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Use a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional to adhere the flower button cut out to the card front on the right side of the sentiment punch out.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick tool to pick up a Coastal Cabana Glitter Enamel Dot being sure to get adhesive as well. Adhere to the center of the flower button cut out.
