Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Just Jade Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Mint Macaron Cardstock
- 2-3/4" x 4-1/2" from Highland Heather Cardstock
- 3-1/4" x 3-7/8" from Shimmery White Cardstock
Unscrew the Water Painter with the large, flat brush tip. Fill the barrel with water and screw the tip back in place.
Tip: The Water Painters unscrew in the opposite direction of what you'd expect.
Place the piece of Shimmery White Cardstock on some Grid Paper to help protect your work surface.
Squeeze the lid of the Pool Party Ink Pad to get a pool of ink in the lid. Open the pad but leave the lid exposed. Gently squeeze the Water Painter to get some drops of water in the lid. Stir the ink and water together with the brush tip. Pick up some watery ink from the lid using the brush tip. Brush across the center of the Shimmery White Cardstock several times. Get more watery ink on the brush tip as needed. Set the watercolor washed cardstock to the side to dry.
Tip: When you are done clean the brush tip by swiping onto Grid Paper until no more color is coming off or run the brush tip under running water until no more color is coming off.
Insert the Mint Macaron rectangle into the Dainty Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the paper inside on your die cutting and embossing tool and run through the machine.
Adhere the dry embossed Mint Macaron rectangle to the front of the Just Jade card.
Insert the Highland Heather rectangle into the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. Use the line drawn on the front flap of the folder to help you line the cardstock up straight. Place the folder with the paper inside on your die cutting and embossing tool and run through the machine.
If the watercolor washed Shimmery White Cardstock rectangle is dry, proceed with the next step.
Tip: You can speed up drying with a Heat Tool if you want.
As you are ready to stamp using the Inspiring Iris Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the outline two irises image from the Inspiring Iris Set on Block I. Ink it up with the Just Jade Ink Pad. Stamp it on the left side of the watercolor washed Shimmery White Cardstock rectangle so the bottoms of the stems are about 1/2" from the bottom.
Mount the solid iris flowers image from the Inspiring Iris Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp it on the shimmery white rectangle over the previously stamped flowers portion of the image.
Mount the solid iris leaves and stems image from the Inspiring Iris Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Mint Macaron Ink Pad. Stamp it on the shimmery white rectangle over the previously stamped leaves and stems portion of the image.
Use the Highland Heather Marker and the Mint Macaron Marker to color in any areas of the flowers, stems, and leaves that you fill need to be colored in a bit more.
Use the fine tip of the Gorgeous Grape Marker to add some squiggles of darker purple to the centers of the flower petals if desired.
Mount the "so sorry for your loss" sentiment from the Prized Peony Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Gorgeous Grape Ink Pad. Stamp it just to the right of the stamped iris image on the shimmery white rectangle so the bottom of the sentiment is about 1" from the bottom.
Adhere the stamped shimmery white rectangle to the dry embossed Highland Heather rectangle so it is centered side to side and about 1/4" of Highland Heather cardstock sticks up on the top edge.
Cut a 4" piece of Pool Party 3/8" Sheer Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the layered, stamped shimmery white cardstock so the ribbon is about 1/2" from the bottom edge of the shimmery white cardstock. Flip the cardstock over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the Highland Heather rectangle. Adhere it to the front of the card in the center.
Cut a 9" piece of Pool Party 3/8" Sheer Ribbon.
Tie a small bow in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon bow to the front of the card at a slight angle along the top of the ribbon already on the card on the left side.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a large, pearlescent white gem from a sheet of Elegant Faceted Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the upper right corner of the shimmery white cardstock rectangle.
