Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Summer Splash Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 3-5/8" x 4-7/8" from Pretty Peacock Cardstock
- 3-1/2"" x 4-3/4" from Basic White Thick Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 2-3/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1" square from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 1" x 3-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
Note: Regular Basic White Cardstock will also work for the spritzed rectangle, but the Thick Cardstock warps less when it gets wet.
DO THIS STEP FIRST!
Put 5 or 6 drops of Pretty Peacock Ink Refill into an empty Stampin' Spritzer. Fill the rest of the spritzer up with 1/2 water and 1/2 rubbing alcohol. Give it a good shake to mix the color into the water/alcohol mix.
Put the rectangle of Basic White Thick Cardstock on a mat of paper towels to protect your work surface. Make sure all items that you don't want to get ink on are out of the way.
Spritz the Pretty Peacock ink/alcohol mix across the bottom of the horizontal white rectangle and about 1/3" of the way up the right edge. Leave most of the rest of the rectangle light or white.
DO THIS STEP NEXT!
Put 5 or 6 drops of Summer Splash Ink Refill into an empty Stampin' Spritzer. Fill the rest of the spritzer up with 1/2 water and 1/2 rubbing alcohol. Give it a good shake to mix the color into the water/alcohol mix.
Leave the rectangle of Basic White Thick Cardstock on a mat of paper towels to protect your work surface. Make sure all items that you don't want to get ink on are out of the way.
Spritz the Summer Splash ink/alcohol mix across the center of the horizontal white rectangle and about 2/3" of the way up the right edge. Leave most of the rest of the rectangle light or white.
Set aside to dry.
As you are ready to stamp using the Hot Air Balloon Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the large balloon top with an opening in the center image from the Hot Air Balloon Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Melon Mambo Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the large, vertical white rectangle.
Mount the center balloon image with scallops from the Hot Air Balloon Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Pretty In Pink Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the previously stamped balloon image so the dots are at the tops of the scallops.
Pick out the matching, open balloon die from the Hot Air Balloon Dies. Put it on top of the stamped balloon on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Mount the large balloon basket (gondola) image from the Hot Air Balloon Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Crumb Cake Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Crumb Cake square.
Pick out the larger, matching, open basket die from the Hot Air Balloon Dies. Put it on top of the stamped basket on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Pick out both of the cloud dies from the Hot Air Balloon Dies. Put them on top of the white strip on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine. Use the Take Your Pick paper-piercing tool to remove the pieces as needed.
If the spritzed rectangle is dry, proceed with the next step.
Tip: You can speed up drying with the Heat Tool if desired.
Mount the "just a note to lift you up" sentiment from the Hot Air Balloon Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Melon Mambo Ink Pad. Make sure there is no excess ink on the block. Stamp the sentiment on the horizontal, spritzed rectangle so it is about 1-1/8" from the bottom and about 1/4" from the left edge. Make sure the darkest spritzed edge is on the bottom of the rectangle.
Cut a 5-1/2" piece of the Summer Splash 3/8" Bordered Ribbon and a 5-1/2" piece of the silver ribbon from the Gold & Silver 1/8" Trim Combo Pack.
Lay the silver ribbon on top of the center of the Summer Splash ribbon so you can see the white center of the silver ribbon. Lay the layered ribbons across the bottom of the stamped and spritzed rectangle just below the stamped sentiment. Fold the ends of the ribbons over and secure the ribbons in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the spritzed rectangle. Adhere the rectangle to the center of the Pretty Peacock rectangle.
Adhere the matted, spritzed rectangle to the front of the Summer Splash card in the center.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the balloon cut out to the front of the card on the right side of the spritzed rectangle so the bottom just overlaps the top of the ribbons.
Use a Mini Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the basket cut out to the front of the card so the tops of the connecting sticks are tucked under the bottom of the balloon and the bottom of the basket is just below the bottom of the ribbons.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the longer cloud cut out to the front of the card as shown in the upper left corner of the spritzed rectangle.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the smaller cloud cut out to the front of the card as shown so it overlaps the lower right side of the other cloud cut out.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Summer Splash 3/8" Bordered Ribbon and a 3-1/2" piece of the silver ribbon from the Gold & Silver 1/8" Trim Combo Pack.
Lay the silver ribbon on top of the center of the Summer Splash ribbon so you can see the white center of the silver ribbon. Slide one end of the ribbons under the ribbon already on the card front. Tie in place with a half knot centered under the sentiment. Trim the ends.
