Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, foil sheets, and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Whisper White Thick Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic Black Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8"" of small, gold honeycomb on white background design from Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/2" x 2-3/4" of black and gold stripes design from Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/2" square from Gold Foil Sheets
- 2 pieces each 1-1/2" x 2-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
Adhere the honeycomb design piece of Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper to the black rectangle and then to the front of the Whisper White Thick card.
Pick out the honeycomb die from the Detailed Bee Dies. Put it on top of the Gold Foil Sheet square on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces, but try to leave some of the honeycomb interior hexagons in place. Save ALL the pieces.
Run a SNAIL Adhesive across the back of the foil honeycomb cut out where the interior hexagons are still in place. Don't worry if the interior hexagons pull free, just set them aside (sticky side up) to use again in a minute. If needed, use the Fine-Tip Glue Pen or Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the delicate honeycomb cut out to the front of the card so the top edge is about 7/8" from the top and the right edge is about 5/8" from the right edge. Adhere a few interior hexagons that fell out back in place as needed. Leave some hexagons open.
Tip: Keep the remaining small hexagon cut outs to use on another project or to decorate the inside of the card or the envelope.
Pick out the bee hive die from the Detailed Bee Dies. Put it on top of the black and gold striped designer paper piece on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the stripes run horizontally across the hive and just a bit of gold will show at the top and bottom edges. Run through the tool.
Adhere the bee hive cut out to the front of the card so it overlaps the left edge of the gold honeycomb cut out a bit and the bottom edge is about 1" from the bottom of the card. Try to center the door at the bottom of the hive over a white space on the background designer paper.
Mount the "Celebrate every moment," "Thank You," or "Hello" sentiment from the Honey Bee Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Daffodil Delight Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of one of the small white rectangles.
Pick out the short die with rounded ends from the Ornate Frames Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the sentiment is centered. Run through the tool.
Use Black Stampin' Dimensionala from the Black Stampin' Dimensionals Combo Pack to adhere the sentiment cut out to the center of the bee hive cut out.
Mount the large bee image from the Honey Bee Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the other small white rectangle.
Pick out the large bee die from the Detailed Bee Dies. Put it on top of the stamped bee image on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the image is centered. Run through the tool.
Make sure you have some paper (Grid Paper works great) at your work space.to protect the work surface. The Stampin' Blends Markers will bleed through the designer paper that you are coloring so you need to protect your work surface.
Place the large bee cut out on the work paper and start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas.
Use the Dark Daffodil Delight Marker to color in the white stripes and patterns on the bee's body.
Use the Light Daffodil Delight Marker to color in the bee's wings.
Use Black Stampin' Dimensionals from the Black Stampin' Dimensionals Combo Pack to adhere the colored, large bee cut out to the front of the card at a slight angle so it overlaps the bottom right corner of the bee hive cut out and the bottom of the gold honeycomb cut out,.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a medium gem from a sheet of Gold Faceted Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the center of a honeycomb flower on the designer paper background in the upper left corner.
