B irthday Card - simple created with Home & Garden bundle from Stampin' Up!
Project Recipe
Standard A2 card size, cut base cardstock 4.25 x 11"
Cut background patterened paper 5.25" x 4" and adhere centered on base cardstock.
Next, cut a second piece of coordinating patterned paper 2" x 4". (I used a previous SAB DSP Daffodil Afternoon patterned paper.) Adhere this piece at the bottom of the card front as shown it will cover up a portion of the previously cut patterned paper.
I also cut 1/4" x 4" of an old olive patterned paper.
Cut three square shapes, I used the new Stylish Shape dies coming available in the new Annual catalog in May. Determine alignment and adhere to card front. I used Multipurpose glue for all items except one square is adhered with dimensionals.
Stamp garden images on an extra piece of the same base cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black. Then color the images using Stampin' Blends. Before die cutting, also get the die that looks like a plank of wood to also die cut.
Before hand, I colored the side of the die that would be against the paper using one of the Stampin' blends so it would reflect color in the embossing details of that die. Note these are alcohol markers and so they color will stain the dies, so beware before you do that, I was fine with this happening.
I also cut out the garden tools at the same time.
The dies in the Home & Garden bundle have a really cool element to them, they include separate dies to cut the metal portions of these images, notice it on the cutters and the tiny shovel. I used silver foil specialty paper to cut those items.
Adhere the foil die cut elements to the correct garden tools.
Adhere the garden tools on to the squares on the card front as shown.
Adhere the wood plank die cut piece over the seam between the bottom and top patterned paper. Then adhere the old olive patterned paper right below the wood plank die cut piece, leaving no space.
Using Old Olive ink, stamp the sentiment on one of the squares.
Last thing I did was add some metallic embellishments along the wood plank to look like some decorative nails.
Your birthday card is complete and ready to share.
