T his holiday card may look simple, but it has a surprise waiting inside!
Project Recipe
Here's what you will need:
Card base: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"
White cardstock mat (front): 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
Patterned Paper mat (front): 5 1/4" x 4"
White cardstock panel (front)l: 4" x 2 1/2"
White card stock mat (inside): 5" x 8" scored at 3", 4", and 5"
Die Cut or fussy-cut image for inside surprise!
Fold card base in half and set aside.
Fold white cardstock piece on the score lines to create a valley- mountain- valley effect. Flatten, and add glue to the two large flaps at each end. (Careful NOT to glue the mountain down). Adhere this piece to the inside of the card base, lining up the middle score line (mountain fold) with the middle of the card base. This will give you a border of approximately 1/4" around the mat edges. (The mountain fold should fold toward you when the card is closed.)
Adhere die cut to the mountain fold. (Be careful with glue placement- this image should be glued only to one side of the mountain fold to stand up when displayed.)
Adhere the patterned paper mat to the white card stock mat. Attach to the card front.
Emboss (optional) the white card stock panel and adhere to the card front; aligning to the left side.
Finish off with sentiment label and decoration.
