C lean and simple Christmas card for anyone who loves lighthouses or lives near the coast using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Seaside Spray Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic Gray Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-3/4" square from Whisper White Cardstock
Place the Stamparatus in front of you with the open sides of the Stamparatus on the left and bottom. Insert one hinged plate into the Stamparatus on the right side. Put the Stamparatus Deluxe Foam Mat on the base of the Stamparatus.
Place the Whisper White rectangle on the base of the Stamparatus somewhere near the center. Make note of the measurement lines so you can put the cardstock in the same place again later.
Lay the horizontally striped lighthouse image from the High Tide Set on top of the white rectangle so it is centered and straight and the stamping side is face down. Close the plate on the Stamparatus and press firmly so the stamp sticks to the plate. Open the plate.
Make sure the cardstock is lined up on the same measurements as before. Ink up the image on the plate using the Seaside Spray Ink Pad. Close the plate and press firmly.
Tip: Slide a Clear-Mount Stamp Case under the plate before inking up the stamp. This gives you a firm, flat surface to push against making it easier to ink up the stamp.
Tip: If you have a Seaside Spray Stampin' Spot on hand, use it to ink up the stamp instead of a full sized ink pad. It will give you more control and will help keep stray ink from getting on the plate.
Remove the hinged plate from the Stamparatus and flip it over. Reinsert it on the right side of the Stamparatus.
Make sure the cardstock is lined up on the same measurements as before. Lay the vertically striped lighthouse image from the High Tide Set on top of the stamped lighthouse so it is centered and straight and the stamping side is face down. Close the plate on the Stamparatus and press firmly so the stamp sticks to the plate. Open the plate.

Tip: If you have a Basic Gray Stampin' Spot on hand, use it to ink up the stamp instead of a full sized ink pad. It will give you more control and will help keep stray ink from getting on the plate.
Pick out the lighthouse die from the Smooth Sailing Dies. Put it on top of the stamped lighthouse on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the top of the lighthouse is centered in the die. Don't worry about the sides and bottom of the lighthouse for now. Run through the tool.
Tip: The lighthouse die from the Smooth Sailing Dies was not designed to cut out this lighthouse. However, it will cut out the fussy bits at the top very nicely. Leaving only straight edges for you to cut out by hand on the sides and bottom.
Use Paper Snips to cut out the sides and bottom of the lighthouse image by hand.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the lighthouse on the right side of the Basic Gray rectangle so the bottom is 3/8" from the bottom and the right side at the bottom is 5/8" from the right side. Use a pencil to mark the left side of the lighthouse on the top where the light ray would come out.
Rub the Embossing Buddy all over the Basic Gray rectangle.
As you are ready to stamp using the High Tide Photopolymer Set or So Many Stars Photopolymer Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the light ray image from the High Tide Set on Block H. Ink it up with the VersaMark Pad. Stamp it on the Basic Gray rectangle so the ray is going off to the left and the small end of the ray starts where you made the pencil mark.
Mount the "Season's Greetings" sentiment from the So Many Stars Set on Block H. Ink it up with the VersaMark Pad. Stamp it on the Basic Gray rectangle so it is 1/2" from the bottom and 1/4" from the left side.
Place the stamped Basic Gray rectangle in the center of a piece of Grid Paper. Sprinkle on Shimmer White Stampin’ Emboss Powder so it covers the stamped light ray image and the stamped sentiment. Tap off excess powder. Return extra powder to the container.
Heat with the Heat Tool until the powder is completely melted (shiny and more opaque white).
Adhere the stamped and heat embossed Basic Gray rectangle to the front of the Seaside Spray card.
Adhere the lighthouse cut out to the front of the card so the top of the lighthouse covers the right end of the light ray.
Mount the wreath with bow image from the Barn Door Set on Block B. Use the brush tip of the Markers to ink up the stamp as shown. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink. Stamp in the center of the small white square.
Pick out the matching wreath with bow die from the Sliding Door Dies. Put it on top of the stamped wreath with bow on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the image is centered in the die. Run through the tool.
Use the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to lightly paint some shimmer on the bow of the wreath cut out.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the wreath cut out to the front of the card so it is centered over the lighthouse just below the grill work at the top of the lighthouse.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick tool to pick up a large or medium rhinestone from a sheet of Rhinestone Basic Jewels being sure to get the adhesive as well. Adhere to the top of the lighthouse where the lens would be located.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick tool to pick up a small rhinestone from a sheet of Rhinestone Basic Jewels being sure to get the adhesive as well. Adhere to the center of the bow on the wreath cut out.
