A dorable treat cup using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Follow the general directions for covering the Sweet Treat Cup using pieces of the tiny light blue dots on light blue background design from the How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper and Real Red Cardstock for the 3-1/4" square of colored cardstock for the lid.
Additional cardstock needed:
-scrap of Real Red Cardstock
- 1-1/2" square of Coastal Cabana Cardstock
To create the main image, mount the otter image from the Hey Love Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 3-1/4" Whisper White square.
Pick out the circle framelit from the Layering Circles Framelits that cuts out a 2-3/8" diameter circle. Place the stamped white square on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the circle framelit on top so the image is on the left side of the circle. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Place the stamped circle cut out on top of some paper on your work surface (Grid Paper works great). You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas. Use the dark colors first and then the light colors to blend the colors and color in the spaces. Work on one area at a time so the inks will be wet and will blend easier.
Use the Light Soft Suede Marker to color in his belly, face, and feet.
Use the Dark Soft Suede Marker to color in the rest of the body.
Use the Dark Real Red Marker to color in the heart in the thought bubble.
Use the Dark and Light Pool Party Markers to color in water around the otter.
Use the Color Lifter Marker as needed to remove excess ink.
Adhere the colored otter circle cut out to the center of the Real Red scalloped circle cut out. Then, adhere the matted circles to the center of the Sweet Cup lid.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a tiny heart droplet from a sheet of Heart Epoxy Droplets making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it over the heart in the thought bubble.
Mount the "you otter be my valentine" sentiment from the Hey Love Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it on the scrap of Real Red Cardstock. Clean the stamp with the Simply Shammy and/or Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub, but leave the stamp on the block.
Use the brush tip of the regular Real Red Marker to ink up only the word "otter" on the sentiment. Stamp it in the center of the small square of Coastal Cabana Cardstock.
Pick out the small straight-edged heart framelit from the Be Mine Stitched Framelits that cuts out a 15/16" wide heart. Place the stamped Coastal Cabana square on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the heart framelit on top so the sentiment is centered in the top of the heart. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the heart cut out with the word "otter" on it to the top of the Sweet Cup lid in the upper right side of the colored white circle so that the right lobe of the heart overlaps the edge of the white circle just a bit.
Use Paper Snips to cut the words in the sentiment stamped on the scrap of red cardstock apart and trim the edges. Throw away the word "otter."
Use either the Fine-Tip Glue Pen or the narrow tip of the Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the words at angles to the top of the Sweet Cup lid so they overlap the heart and the otter image a bit and spell out the sentiment.
